The ‘Woe’ Side of the Seventh Trumpet

Friday Morning Manna                  February 15, 2019

Quotable Quote

“The Word is a power, a sword, in the hands of the human agent, but the Holy Spirit, in its vital power, is the efficiency to impress the mind.”

 E.G. White, Sons & Daughters, p. 30.

The ‘Woe’ Side of the Seventh Trumpet

If you have been lackadaisically lumbering along on the treadmill of prophetic mediocrity, self-assured, Laodicean-like, that you are already settled and nestled in a safe space, just awaiting the amazing that will happen when Christ returns “any minute now,” please be warned: Though appearing to be a good read from many a religious literature, and easy listening sounds emanating from many pulpits in Christendom, this, in fact, is anything but the sure thing.

Historical Details of the Prophecies Presaging the Advent Movement

Historical Details of the Prophecies Presaging the Advent Movement

 QUOTABLE QUOTE

The true symbol of the United States of America is not the Bald Eagle—it’s the pendulum. And when it goes too far in one direction, it is going to swing back.”

No, the symbol of America is neither the Bald Eagle nor a pendulum! According to Bible prophecy America was designated only one symbol filled with profound meaning: “Another beast with lamb-like horns that will speak like a dragon.” See Revelation 13: 11, 12. The quote above is by Ruth Bader Ginsburg (RGB for short), the oldest (85 years old) the three current female Associate Justices of the Supreme Court, quoting her late husband and fellow lawyer, Marty Ginsberg: interview with NPR’s Nina Totenberg following screening of RBG’s own biopic, “On the Basis of Sex,” reported by Amy Zimmerman, Daily Beast, 12-18-18.

The ‘Seven Thunders’ portray prophesied events within the prophecies of the first and second angel’s messages

Friday Morning Manna

The ‘Seven Thunders’ portray prophesied events within the prophecies of the first and second angel’s messages

Yea, the stork in the heaven knoweth her appointed times; and the turtle (dove) and the crane and the swallow observe the time of their coming; but My people know not the judgment of the Lord. Jeremiah 8: 7, K.J.V.

SEVEN is a significant number in the Bible. It denotes perfection and completeness, and is often referred to as God’s number. It suggests the height of: purification, worship, the gospel light, Spirits, seals, trumpets, angels, heads and crowns, plagues, and kings. On the other hand, thunder, literally a sound produced by lightning is figurative of God’s power (Job 26: 14); control (Ps. 104: 7); majesty (Rev. 4: 5), and visitations of judgment (Rev. 11: 19).

Revelation Chapter 10: the Parenthetical Prophecy between the Prophecies of the Sixth and Seventh Trumpets

Friday Morning Manna

Revelation Chapter 10: the Parenthetical Prophecy between the Prophecies of the Sixth and Seventh Trumpets

“Surely the Lord God will do nothing but He reveals His secrets to His servants the prophets.” Amos 3: 7.  “Prophets are subject to the prophets.” 1 Cor. 14: 32.

Not unlike the initially complex “wheels within wheels” that the prophet Ezekiel saw in vision (Exe. 1: 1-21; 10: 2-19, etc.), there are shorter time prophecy clusters contained within the longest time prophecy of the Bible—the 2,300 day (year) prophecy of Daniel 8:14.

The Seven Angels, the Mighty Angel, the Seven Thunders, and the ‘Little Book’

FRIDAY MORNING MANNA

The Seven Angels, the Mighty Angel, the Seven Thunders, and the ‘Little Book’

And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of first. Revelation 10: 1, K.J.V

Another mighty angel. – That is, in addition to the seven angels in charge of the seven trumpets who had earlier appeared to John in vision. He is apparently distinct from the angels who hold the four winds (ch. 7: 1), from those with the seven trumpets (ch. 8: 2), from the angel at the altar (ch. 8: 3), and from those in the river Euphrates [symbolically]. What are the Seven Trumpets of Revelation 9?

FRIDAY MORNING MANNA

What are the Seven Trumpets of Revelation 9?

QUOTE OF THE WEEK:

We elect a government; the president presides over that government.”

Ken Starr, former Independent Counsel

The adage, ‘Prophecy is history written in advance; history is prophecy fulfilled,’ is helpful in interpreting and understanding the seven trumpets of Revelation.  A quick review of well-documented world history, specifically of and during the reign of the Roman Empire composed of its eastern and western divisions clearly reveal the history that fulfills this amazing prophecy.

And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eight and is of the seven, and goeth to perdition. Revelation 17: 11, K.J.V.

FRIDAY MORNING MANNA

And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eight and is of the seven, and goeth to perdition. Revelation 17: 11, K.J.V.

That is, the “eighth beast” who “was,” and “is not”—is “of the seven beasts,” “and “goes into perdition.”

This last “beast” or “eight” beast is not another separate beast in the line of succession of the prophetic beast of sacred and world history. He is “of the seven” previous beasts, and, clearly, the final composite form of the outstanding characteristics of all the rest. This follows the given explanation of the leopard-like beast in the introduction of Revelation 13.

Lest Christianity Forget ‘The Blackest in the Black Catalogue of Crime’

FRIDAY MORNING MANNA

Lest Christianity Forget ‘The Blackest in the Black Catalogue of Crime’

QUOTE OF THE WEEK:

“Not Enoch, who was translated to heaven, not Elijah, who ascended in a chariot of fire, was greater or more honored than John the Baptist, who perished alone in a dungeon.”

-E.G. White, “Death & Imprisonment of John” chapter, Desire of Ages, p. 225.

Jesus gave His disciples the brightest hopes and the greatest promises, including eternal life and a seat with Him in
