Biblical Numerology-Part I

 NUMBER TWO

God Creator, reverently addressed as Jehovah in the Old Testament, and Jesus Christ, God incarnate, in the New Testament is also introduced to in at least 224 other names and titles (See Strong’s Comprehensive Concordance, Universal Subject Guide to the Bible, under “Christ, the Anointed One,Other Names,”). It should have included Michael, the Archangel or “Commander-in-Chief of the angelic hosts.” (Daniel 10: 13, 21; 12: 1; Jude 9; Rev. 12: 7). He is also identified in the prophetic book of Daniel as “Palmoni, the Numberer of secrets or Wonderful Numberer.”

“In Daniel 8, Verse 13 the word ‘saint’ is supplied. ‘Certain’ is a combination of two Hebrew words. The first is either pali or pala. The second is mena. Each are applied in the Scriptures to the Lord. The margin says, “Heb. Palmoni; the numbered of secrets, or Wonderful Numberer. This is undoubtedly a referral to Jesus, and Jesus is the one who gives the answer in Daniel 8: 14. [pali, “secret,” Judges 13: 18; pala, “wonderful,” Isa. 9:6 + mena, “numbers,” Daniel 5:26].” http:www.patmospapers.com/daniel/Daniel 8. htm:

5. “To seal up the vision.” – Events that transpired within these 490 years, would t “seal,” or establish the entire vision of the 2,300 day-years.

6. “To anoint the most holy.”- During this time Christ would be anointed of the Holy Spirit, identifying Him as the promised Messiah after being baptized by John the Baptist. This has to be the primary application of the prophecy. It is also true that in the type, when the time came to begin the service in the earthly sanctuary, the entire sanctuary was anointed (Exo. 40:9); and when Christ entered the heavenly sanctuary to perform the work of which the earthly service was a type, the heavenly sanctuary was anointed before He began His ministry in the first apartment. Note: The heavenly sanctuary is also spoken of as the “most holy” in order to distinguish it from the earthly.

Wonderful changes were wrought in the history of the early church during the 490 years. After the angel had enumerated the events to take place during that period, he told Daniel where to locate it in the history of the world, by announcing the date of the beginning of the period:

The 1335 Prophetic Days

“Still another prophetic period is here introduced, denoting 1335 years. Can we tell when this period begins and ends? The only clue we have to the solution of this question, is the fact that it is spoken of in immediate connection with the 1290 years, which began in 508 as shown above. From that point there shall be, says the prophet, 1290 days. The very next sentence reads, ‘Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the 1335 days.’ From what point?— From the same point, undoubtedly, as that from which the 1290 date, namely, A.D. 508. Unless they are to be reckoned from this point, it is impossible to locate them, and they must be excepted from the prophecy of Daniel when we apply to it the words of Christ, ‘Whoso readeth, let him understand.’ Matt. 24:15. From this point they would extend to 1843, for 1335 added to 508 make 1843. Beginning in the spring of the former year, they ended in the spring of the latter.

The Prophetic Time Period of 1260 years

Next, we need to review the time period referred to as “a thousand two hundred and three score days” which is referred to in three forms in the books of Daniel and Revelation, as follows:

As “a thousand two hundred and three score days,” — Rev. 11:3; 12: 6.

As “42 months.” —Rev. 11:2 and 13: 5.

As “three and a half times.” — Dan. 7: 25 and 12: 7, and Rev. 12: 14.
