THE FAITH OF JESUS, THE BIBLE AND THEIR SAINTS (Part 1)

MID-WEEK MANNA FROM PASTOR NAT’S DESK:

THE FAITH OF JESUS, THE BIBLE AND THEIR SAINTS (Part 1)

“Now faith is the substance of the things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. By it [faith] the elders obtained a good report.” Heb. 11: 1, 2, KJV.

As with the oneness and unity of The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—the three Persons of the Godhead or the “heavenly Trio” (1 John 5:7), the faith of Jesus, Bible faith, and the faith of the saints (beginning with Abel down to the last faithful “patient, commandment-keeping saint” (Rev. 14:12) before earth’s probation closes, are likewise “one.” How? Why? It simply follows and is true to the eternal principle of the indivisibility and unchanging unity expressed and manifested in the following few examples:

Jesus Christ, “in whom the fullness of the Godhead dwelleth bodily” (Col. 1:19; 2:9)  is “the SAME yesterday, today, and forever” (Heb 13:8).

Again, He, “Who is the IMAGE of the INVISIBLE God, the Firstborn of every creature, for BY Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible or invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him and FOR Him and He is before all things, and by Him ALL things consist” (Col. 1:16,17), whom the Father “hath appointed Heir of all things, by whom also He made the WORLDS, who being the BRIGHTNESS  of His [the Father’s] glory, and the EXPRESS image of HIS PERSON, and upholding all things by the WORD of His POWER…”(Heb. 1: 2, 3), is no less than “the Author and Finisher of OUR FAITH” (Heb. 12:!2)!

Even as 1 Corinthians 13 is known as “the love chapter,” and Psalms 119 as the “meditation on the Law chapter,” our lead Bible verses are the opening “It is written”introduction of Christ’s  and the Bible’s eternally-honored HALL OF FAITH to the eyes, ears, minds, and hearts of earth’s fallen, sinful inhabitants as well as to the numberless “worlds” in God’s universe mentioned briefly in Hebrews 1: 2. Hebrews chapter 11 stands in stark contrast to all the man-made, self-serving, self-glorifying Halls of Fame of fallible mortals, and the ignominious “Halls of Shame” made up of the worst of human beings and their ignominious careers and deeds, sadly glorified in fiction and film.

In the Bible’s Hall of Faith those whose names are mentioned as well as the unnamed ones including all who refused to “receive the mark of the beast in their foreheads or in their hands” in obedience-worship to “the image of the beast” and “overcome them by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony” (Rev. 7: 1-17: 12: 10. 11; 14:1-5, 12, 13; 19: 7-9; 15: 2, 3; 20: 4; 21: 1-27; 22: 1-14) are forever enshrined in God’s book of life, as “nominated” and “fully vetted” by the the three Persons of the Godhead that “bear RECORD in heaven” (1 John 5:7) and are witnessed to by the “ministering spirit-angels” (both cherubim and seraphim, guardian-and-recording) that number “thousand thousands, ten thousand times ten thousand (Dan. 7: 10; Rev. 5:11, etc.), “the twenty four elders’ and the ‘four beast-living creatures’ (Rev..5:8-14; 11:16-19; 19:4; Eze. 1: 4-28).

Their  eternally-redeemed status have been judged and finally and irrevocably determined during the pre-advent, investigative judgment session in the heavenly sanctuary solemnly announced by the first of the three angels of Revelation 14.

With prayer and fasting, accompanied with earnest and importunate prayer for the conviction, guidance, and enlightenment of the Holy Spirit, study the three angels’ messages like you never did before. Your faith in Jesus and the Bible will grow exponentially in quicker preparation for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in latter rain power for the final loud cry of the “fourth angel” of Revelation 18!

To be continued in the next MWM, God willing. Bless all, NMF.

THE RELIGION OF THE BIBLE AND THE FAITH OF JESUS (Part 2)

MID-WEEK MANNA FROM PASTOR NAT’S DESK:
August 17, 2022

THE RELIGION OF THE BIBLE AND THE FAITH OF JESUS (Part 2)

Jesus said: “But the hour cometh, and NOW IS, when the TRUE WORSHIPERS shall worship the FATHER in SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH: for the Father SEEKETH SUCH to worship Him. God is a SPIRIT: and they that worship Him MUST worship Him in spirit and in truth.” John 4: 23, 24, KJV (emphasis mine).

Referring to Mark 12: 28, 29, A. T. Jones thus wrote: “All there is of any SOUL [the living person, not a separate, ‘disembodied spirit’ or “ghost” that leaves the person’s body at death!] is first due to God; because it all came from God. This, therefore, is the first of all commandments, NOT because it is the first one that was ever given by spoken word, or that was ever written out, but because it is the first that could POSSIBLY be.

“And this because it is the expression of the FIRST PRINCIPLE of the existence of any INTELLIGENT creature. The principle was there, INHERENT in the existence of the first intelligent creature [the first Adam], in the FIRST MOMENT of his existence, and there the principle abides ETERNALLY, UNMODIFIED AND UNFADING.

“Now, though that is the first of all relationships, and the first of all duties, though that relationship and duty are inherent in the very existence of intelligent creatures, yet even in that inherent OBLIGATION, God has created every intelligent creature FREE–free to RECOGNIZE that obligation or not, free to DISCHARGE that duty or not, just as he CHOOSES.

“Accordingly it is written, ‘Choose you this day whom you will serve’ [Joshua 24:15]. ‘Whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely’ [Rev 21: 17]. Thus it is absolutely true that in RELIGION [of the Bible] –in the duty which we OWE to our Creator and the MANNER of discharging it—God has created man entirely ‘exempt from the domination of others and from restricting circumstances,’ has made him free to make his choice, and decide his conduct for himself, SPONTANEOUSLY AND VOLUNTARILY.’ Thus religious liberty is a GIFT OF GOD, inherent in the gift of RATIONAL EXISTENCE ITSELF.

“Any service to God that is NOT freely chosen [coerced, forced, intimidated, threatened] by him who renders it CANNOT be of God; because ‘God is love’ [1 John 4: 8, 16] and love and compulsion, love and force, love and oppression, can NEVER go together [they are ‘at enmity towards each other.’ See Rom. 8: 6-8 for example].” Individuality in Religion, pp. 6-8.

Even as “spiritual things are spiritually discerned,” true worship is in and of the spirit (from an honest, sincere, humble, and penitent heart). not merely “having the form of godliness but denying the power thereof.. . .ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth” (2 Tim. 3: 5, 7), ceremonial, mechanical, mere lip service. See Isa. 28:13; Matt. 15: 7-9; Mark 7: 5-9, KJV.

To be continued next MWM, God willing. Bless all, NMF.

YEAR END 2021 MESSAGE FOR ALL BIBLE-READING CHRISTIANS

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:
December

YEAR END 2021 MESSAGE FOR ALL BIBLE-READING CHRISTIANS

The year 2021 is ingloriously winding down, lugging with it a gargantuan mixed bag of hope and desperation (with everything in between, both probable and impossible, absolutely vital and grossly unconscionable, saintly and demonic, heroic and villainous, genuinely prophetic and provocatively conspiratorial, running the whole gamut of their respective scale and magnitudes).

The now historical specter named Covid 19 and its virulent variant relatives, may be said to be responsible for packing this “mixed bag,” or if you wish, “stuffing” this global-sized bulging “stockings” styled by the devastating hands of what is myopically-diagnosed as the man-made “climate change and global warming,” mysteriously leaving out the real causes, purposes of its diabolical mastermind in the spiritual conflict of the ages!

However, instead of summarizing the highlights of prophetic perspectives and import of eternal consequences of what has thus transpired and what it forebodes in the days ahead, (which I plan to do later at the other side of incoming new year, God willing), I am sharing with you one of my favorite passages in my KJV Bible from Paul’s epistle to the church in Ephesus.

In it the apostle lifts up and magnifies an all-encompassing CAUSE that transcends all other worthy causes of and for mankind. And what is it? In her book The Great Controversy, Ellen G. White wrote that here the apostle “presents to the true believer the height of Christian privileges, opening before them in the most comprehensive language the most marvelous power that they might possess as sons and daughters of the Most High.”

Even before discovering this amazing verse-specific Testimony, I had already begun committing this passage to memory because when first encountered it in my Bible readings way back, I believe, in the early 1990s, it immediately captured my attention.

Many years after, I now know much better as to why! It encapsulates so succinctly like no other, what the ultimate goal of the plan of salvation of the gospel is—for the individual believer, the church at large, and the family of God on earth.

I find it even more profoundly timely now as my staging ground, as it were, from where I can look by clear-eyed faith, beyond the temporal trials, tribulations, and disappointments of the hopelessly uncertain present to the certainty of the promised glorious triumphs of tomorrow’s eternity—that begins the moment Jesus returns in His second advent bringing His reward of eternal life to all who remained faithfully obedient to the truth to the end of their earthly lives. Now read on and tell me what you think!

Ephesians 3: 14-21: “For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of whom the family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man; that Christ might dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God. Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us. Unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.” Eph. 3: 14-21, KJV.

God bless all of you, NMF.

FAULTS & FAILURES OF BIBLE HEROES SERVE AS ENCOURAGEMENT & WARNING, NOT EXCUSE OR JUSTIFICATION

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

FAULTS & FAILURES OF BIBLE HEROES SERVE AS ENCOURAGEMENT & WARNING, NOT EXCUSE OR JUSTIFICATION

TDG 255: Jesus, our Savior, Life Coach, Example, and Standard of character said the following:

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16: 33.

“To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with Me in My throne, even AS I overcame, and am set down with My Father in His throne.” Rev. 3:21, KJV.

“Inspiration fully records the faults of good men, those who were distinguished by the good favor [grace] of God; indeed, their faults are more fully presented than their virtues [like David, etc.].

“Men whom God favored, and to whom He entrusted grave responsibilities, were SOMETIMES overcome by temptation and committed sin EVEN as we at the present day strive, waver, and frequently fall into error. Their lives, with all their faults and follies are open before us, BOTH for our encouragement and warning.

If they had been represented as without fault, WE, with our sinful nature, might DESPAIR at our own mistakes and failures. But seeing where others struggled through discouragements LIKE our own, where they fell under temptation AS we have done, and YET took heat again and CONQUERED THROUGH THE GRACE OF GOD, we are encouraged in our STRIVING [opposite of ignoring, worse, defending] AFTER RIGHTEOUSNESS.

As they, though SOMETIMES beaten back, RECOVERED their ground, and were blessed of God, so we too may be OVERCOMERS in the STRENGTH [the amazing, mpowering grace] of Jesus.” – Patriarchs & Prophets, p. 238.

“The life of Christ’s disciples is to be LIKE His, A SERIES OF UNINTERRUPTED VICTORIES, not seen to be such here [by mortal vision now on earth], but recognized as such in the GREAT HEREAFTER.” – Vol. 6, Testimonies, p. 307/TDG 245.

Such never boast about their success of overcoming their faults and weaknesses but do so quietly because they seek to please God, not their fellow mortals! Bless all, NMF
