PREP FOR LORD’S SUPPER : CONFESSION.

See 1 John 1: 9, 10. Here’s a vital preparation to qualify to receive the benefits and blessings of forgiveness, peace, joy, prosperity and eternal salvation.- The conditions for obtaining God’s mercy and forgiveness are simple, just and reasonable. We need not make long and wearisome pilgrimages, or perform painful penance (righteousness by works) to commend our souls to God or to atone for our sins. See Prov. 28:13.

The apostle says, Confess your faults one to another, pray for one another, that you may be healed. James 5:16. Confess your sins to God, who only can forgive them, and your faults to one another.

Does Imparted Divine Nature Make Us Divine?

     “Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”

2 Pet. 1: 2-4, N.K.J.V.

It is by the power of Christ’s divine nature—rather than His incarnated human nature—that He gives all things pertaining to life, i.e., both temporal and eternal, and godliness. To those who willingly respond to His call to character glory, hence, virtue, obtain a knowledge of Him in this particular regard.

Why did God Creator have to come down to fallen man’s level in the incarnation?

It was to demonstrate by “manifesting to the world, men and angels” for all eternity the truth of God’s undying and unconditional love for sinners, which likewise reveals the secret of victory of fallen man over Satan and sin, which is: the complete surrender of man man’s will to God’s will, the lost sinner’s will to the Savior’s will.

If souls a month or two old in the truth, who are about to enter the time of trouble such as never was, cannot hear all the straight truth, or endure the strong meat of the straightness of the way, how will they stand in the day of battle?

Truths that we have been years learning must be learned in a few months by those who now embrace the third angel’s message. There is no need of milk after souls are convinced of the truth.

“In the use of language there is perhaps no error that we pass over lightly than hasty, impatient speech. But God’s Word does not treat it lightly. The largest share of life’s annoyances, its heartaches, it’s irritations, is due to uncontrolled temper.

In one moment, by hasty, passionate, careless words, may be wrought evil that’s whole lifetime’s repentance cannot undo. Oh, the hearts that are broken, the friends estranged, the lives wrecked, by the harsh, hasty words of those who might have brought help and healing.

“The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things which are revealed belong to us and our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.” Deut. 29: 29. “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” Prov. 29: 18, K.J.V. The NKJV reads: “Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint.”
