The Battle for the ‘Present Truth’

“Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in present truth.” 2 Peter 1: 12 (see verses 1-11), Authorized Version

Jesus Christ, God Creator in the flesh (John 1: 14; 1 Tim. 3: 16) declared, “I am the way, the truth and the life,” John 14: 6. “Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, If you continue (abide) in My Word, you are My disciples indeed, and you shall know truth, and the truth shall set you free.” John 8: 31, 32.

In the plan of salvation the “good news” of the gospel is that Creator of man, condescended in the incarnation to become the Savior of mankind, fallen by sin and hopeless captives of Satan, by delivering, “setting them free” by His life example as a man, “tempted in all points as man is tempted yet without sin,” and by His death on the cross as their substitute and surety from, not in, the power and bondage to sin which is “the transgression of the law (1 John 3: 4). Hence the specific name given Him at His birth, “Thou shalt call His name Jesus, for He shall save His people from their sins.” Matt. 1: 21. Notice here that while Jesus died for the sins of the world, He saves His people from their sins! That is the truth.

IDOLATROUS INFATUATIONS: BELSHAZZAR’S FALL

May 22, 2020
FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

IDOLATROUS INFATUATIONS: BELSHAZZAR’S FALL

See Daniel 5:1-29. “Weighed in the balances and found wanting.” Verse 27

“No misfortune is so great as to become a worshipper of a false god. No man/woman is in such miserable darkness as he/she who has lost his way to heaven. It seems that an infatuation is upon him/her, for he has a false god. To turn this worship of a human, fallen, corrupt human beings in earth, to the only true object of worship seems a hopeless task. [thats how overpowering fatal obsession and infatuation is].

ONLY A NEW HEART CAN MAKE A NEW YEAR

December 30, 2019

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

ONLY A NEW HEART CAN MAKE A NEW YEAR.

“There is nothing new under the sun. Is there anything of which it may be said, See, this new? It has already been in ancient times before us.” Eccl. 1: 9, 10.

The only things that can be made brand new, inside out, according the only One who has and “creates/makes all things new” (Ps. 51:10; Eze. 11:19: 18: 30-32; 36: 26; Heb. 8: 9-13; 10: 16, 17), producing “the new creature/creation where old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2 Cor. 5:17).

Here’s “the truth as it in Jesus”—“that we put off, concerning our former conduct, the old man, which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of our mind, that we put on the new man which was created according to God, in righteousness and holiness” (Eph. 4: 17-24).
