HOW THE SABBATH DAY IS HALLOWED

May 26, 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

HOW THE SABBATH DAY IS HALLOWED

“IF you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, from doing your pleasure on My holy day [not holiday], and call the Sabbath a delight, the HOLY DAY of the Lord honorable, and shall honor Him, NOT DOING YOUR OWN WAYS, nor FINDING YOUR OWN PLEASURE, nor SPEAKING YOUR OWN WORDS, then you shall delight yourself in the Lord; and I will cause you to rise the high hills [places, KJV]  of the earth, and FEED you wither the heritage of Jacob your father. The mouth of the Lord [of the Sabbath day] has spoken.” Isa. 58: 13,14, NKJV.

“God has given 6 days wherein to labor, and He REQUIRES that their own work be done in 6 working days. ACTS of necessity and mercy are permitted in the Sabbath, the sick and the suffering are at ALL TIMES to be cared for; but UNNECESSARY labor is to be strictly avoided. [Isa. 58:13 quoted].

God is Speaking. Do You Know Recognize His ‘Voice’?

Friday Morning Manna

God is Speaking. Do You Know Recognize His ‘Voice’?

Jesus said: “My sheep know My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” John 10: 27.

And He continues:“I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father who has given them [His lamb and sheep], is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hands. I and My Father are one.” verses 28, 29.

In these short verses alone, God in Christ, through the Holy Spirit in the written and spoken Word, is speaking volumes of present, testing truth to two classes of people in this moment of earth-time in the vicinity of the prophesied startling closing events leading to the end of earth’s six-thousand-year probation. Jesus was born four thousand years after the fall. We are now “living and moving and have our being” (Acts 17: 28) in the year 2020.

IGNORANCE OF GOD’S WORD IS SIN

April 26, 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

IGNORANCE OF GOD’S WORD IS SIN.

“There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” Prov.16:25, KJV.

Good morning on this first working day of this week, four months now grappling with this covid-19 global pandemic with no certain path forward for the rest of the world, but not for those who have been diligently storing God’s Word in their minds.

We should be alarmed and afraid, not of being infected and dying of the corona virus but of committing the sin of negligence that results in the sin of ignorance of God’s Word! Observe:

The truth and the glory of God are inseparable; it is impossible for us, with the Bible within our reach, to honor God by erroneous opinions. Many claim that it matters not what one believes, if his life is only right.

WORLD NOW PRIMED FOR SATAN’S ‘LYING WONDERS’

April 23, 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

WORLD NOW PRIMED FOR SATAN’S ‘LYING WONDERS’

“Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.” 2 Thess.2:9,10,KJV. (See verses 3-12; compare to Rev. 13: 13,14).

Nobody in his right mind wants to imagine the worst, but the worst is not some virtual monster; it is a calloused reality.

THERE IS JOY IN MOURNING

April 22, 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

THERE IS JOY IN MOURNING

Good Wednesday morning to all! I was deeply impressed early this morning to share this message, in a time when numberless people are, and yet will be mourning because of the unfair way they have and will be losing loved ones and friends directly or indirectly caused by this lethal coronavirus pandemic.

In His sermon on the mount, Jesus pronounced this second blessing upon the multitudes, which included His disciples-in-training: “Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.” Matt. 5:4,KJV (See also Isa.61:1-3). Lest we miss the deeper, more meaningful and longer-lasting import of this message after the mourning for death dissipates in time, let’s hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches in the following:

THIS TIME, NO MORE TIME EXCUSES REMAIN

April 6, 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

THIS TIME, NO MORE TIME EXCUSES REMAIN.

“Remember how short my time is: wherefore hast Thou made all men in vain? Ps. 89:47. “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” Ps. 90:12, KJV.

God gives, and takes away but only for our benefit and His glory. This corona virus is taking away a lot but is also “giving back,” depending on how you view it spiritually.

Many who have pleaded the excuse that they “just had no time” in their madhouse daily routine to study God’s Word briefly, much less in depth, just saw “Mr. Excuse” walk out of the door, slammed it shut, leaving them inside their homes alone with a long-ignored VIP guest named “Mr. Time.”

GOD’S PURPOSE FOR YOU IS BY DESIGN, NOT DEFAULT

April 5, 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

GOD’S PURPOSE FOR YOU IS BY DESIGN, NOT DEFAULT.

Good morning on this first working day, Sunday! Let me share with you thoughts that have emerged in my mind as I turn my eyes away from a world in turmoil and focus them on God’s Word, seeking for comfort, strength, wisdom and guidance.

Here’s a set of thoughts which I wrote down and entitled with the above:  “We are by design, not a mere default.”

HOW MUCH DO WE REALLY TRUST GOD?

April 3, 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

HOW MUCH DO WE REALLY TRUST GOD?

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes, fear the Lord and depart from all evil. It will be health to your flesh and strength to your bones.” Prov.3:5-8,NKJV.

If ever we needed health to our flesh and strength to our bones, it is now in the midst of this combined pandemic of a coronavirus + fear+ lack of trust. We forget, even as we like to say “God is in control,” that God uses divinely calibrated-and-controlled trials to test, develop and perfect our faith and trust in Him, not on our own understanding neither in finite institutions of men.
