GOD’S PURPOSE FOR YOU IS BY DESIGN, NOT DEFAULT

April 5, 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

GOD’S PURPOSE FOR YOU IS BY DESIGN, NOT DEFAULT.

Good morning on this first working day, Sunday! Let me share with you thoughts that have emerged in my mind as I turn my eyes away from a world in turmoil and focus them on God’s Word, seeking for comfort, strength, wisdom and guidance.

Here’s a set of thoughts which I wrote down and entitled with the above:  “We are by design, not a mere default.”

Do not try to be “all that you can be” in what or who God has NOT purposed you to be. That is why there are so many aimless, disillusioned, failed, and unfulfilled lives, even of Christians.

They are constantly searching but never finding what they think they are looking for. Solomon, the wisest mortal that they ever walked the earth became even wiser after finding out that “everything under the sun,” that is, not according to God’s plan, is nothing but “vanity.”

God has a specific role for you to fulfill during your lifetime, at every given stage, even at this time of the coronavirus global calamity—whether as “laborers” who start at the “first hour” or come in at the “eleventh hour,” as in the Parable of the Laborers.

Seek this specific role with all your heart, mind, soul and strength. It is well worth all the effort because in the end, that is what and who you were supposed to be in this life, not defined and limited by “predestination” but by your life choices.

Don’t try to be like someone else. He is not you and you are not him. Such is just interposing your will over God’s will. It disrupts and delays God’s work on you, as well as for others whom He intends to be influenced by you for the salvation of their souls and yours, too.

What we should all aim for and repurpose our lives in thought, word and deed, in this yet-mortal nature in this yet-corruptible vessels of of clay and dust— is to be like Jesus in every way, every day, even in a day just like today in the midst of this pandemic, one day at a time only, not fretting and worrying what tomorrow will bring.

If we live in this atmosphere within us, and we are called to put down our armor and rest in Jesus, by any manner He chooses, it is well that we were born for we lived in harmony with His will, did His biddings joyfully, thoroughly and with dispatch and this glorified Christ in our lives. We made the little world around us a better place in preparation for the best place in our eternal home. Have a fruitful week.   NMF
