DO CHRISTIANS TODAY UNDERSTAND THE PRINCIPLES OF RELIGIOUS FREEDOM AND LIBERTY?

July 27, 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

DO CHRISTIANS TODAY UNDERSTAND THE PRINCIPLES OF RELIGIOUS FREEDOM AND LIBERTY?

Maybe not. Because the brothers James and John, two of the first Twelve disciples did not, even after they had the special privilege together with Peter to witness the transfiguration! See Lue 9: 28- 36, 51-56 first.

“James and John, were GREATLY ANNOYED at the insult shown to their Lord. They were filled with INDIGNATION because He had been insulted by the Samaritans whom He was honoring by His presence. They [James & John] had been with Him in the mount of transfiguration, and had seen Him GLORIFIED by God, and honored by Moses and Elijah. This manifest DISHONOR by the Samaritans, should not, THEY THOUGHT, be passed over without marked PUNISHMENT.”

THE SABBATH IN THE ADVENT MOVEMENT

June 3, 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

THE SABBATH IN THE ADVENT MOVEMENT

“Thus saith the Lord, Keep us Judgment, and do justice: for My salvation is NEAR to come, and My righteousness to be REVEALED.” Isa.56:1, KJV (See verses 2-8; cf. Rev.18).

“When does Isaiah’s prophecy apply? See Heb. 9: 26, 28; 10:10, 12,14; 1 Pet.1:4,5. The gathering of Sabbath-keepers just before Christ’s second advent in Isa. 56: 2-8.

“This gathering under the Advent Movement since 1844 includes every ‘man’ who ‘keepeth the Sabbath FROM POLLUTING IT, and keepeth his hand FROM DOING ANY EVIL.’ It also includes ‘the sons of the stranger’ and ‘the eunuchs that KEEP MY SABBATHS.’

What Happened to the Movement Linking the Exodus and Advent Movements?

“Thus says the Lord: Keep My justice, and do righteousness, for My salvation is about to come, and My righteousness to be revealed. Blessed is the man who does this, and the son of man who lays hold on it; who keeps from defiling the Sabbath, and keeps his hand from doing any evil.” Isiah 56: 1, 2, N.K.J.V.

We saw that the Protestant Reformation Movement was the connecting link between the Exodus in the Old and the Advent Movement in the New Testament.  God commanded the gospel prophet, Isaiah, to declare then and more specifically in in its antitypical application: “Cry aloud, spare not; lift up your voice like a trumpet. Tell My people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.”
