THE SABBATH IN THE ADVENT MOVEMENT
“Thus saith the Lord, Keep us Judgment, and do justice: for My salvation is NEAR to come, and My righteousness to be REVEALED.” Isa.56:1, KJV (See verses 2-8; cf. Rev.18).
“When does Isaiah’s prophecy apply? See Heb. 9: 26, 28; 10:10, 12,14; 1 Pet.1:4,5. The gathering of Sabbath-keepers just before Christ’s second advent in Isa. 56: 2-8.
“This gathering under the Advent Movement since 1844 includes every ‘man’ who ‘keepeth the Sabbath FROM POLLUTING IT, and keepeth his hand FROM DOING ANY EVIL.’ It also includes ‘the sons of the stranger’ and ‘the eunuchs that KEEP MY SABBATHS.’
“Not only does this call include the ‘outcasts of [modern, apostate] Israel’ but ‘others’ which embraces ‘all people’ for the Lord declares that ‘His house’ ‘shall be called an house of prayer for ALL PEOPLE.’
“In the Advent Movement the Sabbath must be the OUTWARD SIGN of a godly character and separation from evil, sin, and unrighteousness. It is the OUTWARD SIGN of the character of GOD CREATOR.
“True Sabbath-keeping shows that the Law of God is WRITTEN IN THE HEART and that we are no longer under the Old Covenant but the NEW COVENANT. Heb. 8:10; 10:16. This is New Covenant Christianity.
“Because the Sabbath is a sign of LOYALTY to the CREATOR, and a sign of SANCTIFICATION or holiness in those who keep it, its faithful observance ‘stirs up the wrath of the dragon’ and persecuted them. See 2 Tim. 3:12; Rev.12:17; 13:15-17, 8.
End time Prophecy warns us that religious laws will soon become oppressive and that finally a death sentence will be enforced upon those that violate these man-made religious laws, starting in America, then quickly followed by the rest of the nations of the world.
“It isn’t so difficult to ‘observe’ the nine other commandments in modern spiritual Babylon of today, but it will be impossible to keep the Sabbath and still remain where the opposition will be so bitter and persecution so great. Hence the call, ‘Come out of her.’ Rev. 18:1-5.
God’s servant says, “As God called out the children of Israel out of Egypt, that they might keep His Sabbath, so He calls His people out of [spiritual] Babylon, that they might NOT worship the beast NOR his image.” E.G. White, 3 SM 406.
