WHAT MITHRAISM, CHRISTMAS, AND SUNDAY WORHIP HAVE IN COMMON

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

WHAT MITHRAISM, CHRISTMAS, AND SUNDAY WORHIP HAVE IN COMMON

Yes. you read it right: not Communism, Socialism, Fascism, jingoistic Nativism, Federalism or Feudalism, but MITHRAISM, the earliest form of universal (or “catholic”) RELIGION of sun-worship!
Now read on and be better informed; for the choices and decisions we make are only as sound and enduring as the information and knowledge we have on the matter.
As the Bible says, “My people are destroyed because of lack of knowledge [of truth].” Consider the following carefully as we approach the traditional holidays, particularly Christmas,  under this unprecedented period of national and global anxiety and uncertainty, in the advancing light of the end-time prophecies of Daniel and Revelation:

“MITHRAISM, an outwardly refined sun worship, invaded the ROMAN EMPIRE in B.C. 67, and made way for itself by gathering under its wing ALL THE GODS OF ROME, so that ‘in the middle of the third century [A.D.] Mithraism seemed on the verge of becoming the universal religion.” – Encyclopedia. Britannica, Vol. XVIII, art. ‘Mithras,’ p. 624, 11th edition, 1911.

“That which made Mithraism so popular was the fact that the Roman Caesars adopted it, and the [Roman] soldiers planted its banner where ever they went [remember what Cestius did in the prophesied first invasion of Jerusalem in A.D. 70?].
The higher schools of GREEK learning also adopted it, so also did the NOBILITY, or the better classes of society which gave it great PRESTIGE. Its ‘Mysteries’ had a bewitching and fascinating influence on the people (general populace). And SUNDAY, called ‘the venerable day of the sun,’ was the popular HOLIDAY [not yet ‘holy’ day] of Mithraism.

“On the other hand, the PRIMITIVE Christian religion appeared to the learned Greek scholastics and their followers of eminent nobility as ‘foolishness’ (see 1 Cor. 1:18-23), and the Romans looked down upon the Christians with disdain and utter contempt. After the Jews had rebelled against the Roman government [see Josephus’ ‘Antiquities’] (Jerusalem and its Temple were destroyed by Titus, A.D., 70, and multitudes of the Jews were sold as slaves), hatred and contempt for them had become quite general among the Romans, and everything Jewish was despised. Thus Sunday, in the Roman world, stood for what was eminent ans popular, while the SABBATH, kept by the Jews, stood for what was despised and looked down upon. The temptations placed before an aspiring man, therefore, lay all in one direction.” Facts of Faith, p. 97.

NO VICTORY WITHOUT SUBMISSION & CO-OPERATION WITH CHRIST

April 19, 2020
FROM YOUR PASTOR ‘S DESK:

NO VICTORY WITHOUT SUBMISSION & CO-OPERATION WITH CHRIST

Good morning on the 31st day since our state’s governor declared a lock-down as a major mitigation strategy against the covid-19 enemy.

It’s for you to assess as to where tide is turning. Everyone has his own take and only time will tell if their hunches and determinations were sound or unsound.

Remember the first day of the Creator’s week, is today which the world, not the Bible calls Sunday, for that was what it really was, the day dedicated to the sun, an inanimate body to “rule the day.”

The Elijah-John the Baptist Message of the Advent Movement

Friday Morning MannaJanuary 4, 2019

The Elijah-John the Baptist Message of the Advent Movement

“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the great and dreadful day of the Lord.”Malachi 4: 5, K.J.V. (The last prophecy of the Old Testament)

To start this New Year 2019, let’s take a necessary stop as it were, as we travel the Advent Movement highway to take a much closer look at vital aspects of the appointed work and central message entrusted to the last-day Advent Movement.

First, in Christ’s time the disciples and the religious leaders and people alike were familiar with  Malachi’s stirring prophecy. So the disciples inquired, ‘Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come?” Christ replied, “Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things. But I say unto you, That Elias is come already.” After more explanations from Christ, “Then the disciples understood that He spake of unto them of John the Baptist.” Matt. 17: 10-18.

Prophecies Regarding Current and Still-Breaking News

FRIDAY MORNING MANNA

Prophecies Regarding Current and Still-Breaking News

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

“A classic motif of comedy is the small lies that require bigger lies to maintain the deceit, until the whole fraud collapses with the deceivers exposed.”

— Nick Newman, Yahoo Finance, July 20, 2018

Before we dive back to the latter part of our mini-series on the “death and resurrection” of the “Two Prophets/Witnesses” and the “beast that ascends from the bottomless pit” of Revelation chapter 11, we need to be periodically reminded—

The Council of Trent of 1562, Archbishop Del Fosso: How the Foundation of Roman Catholic Authority was Laid

FRIDAY MORNING MANNA

Biblical Numerology: NUMBER SEVEN – Part 24

The Council of Trent of 1562, Archbishop Del Fosso: How the Foundation of Roman Catholic Authority was Laid

Jesus told the religious leaders of His day: “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written:  . . . In vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men. For laying aside the commandments of God, you hold the Traditions of men . . . All too well you reject the commandments of God that you may keep your Tradition . . .  Making the word of God of no effect through your Tradition which you have handed down. And many such things you do.” Mark 7: 6, 7, 9, 13, N.K.J.V.

For what can war but endless war still breed?

FRIDAY MORNING MANNA

Biblical Numerology: NUMBER FIVE Part VI

‘For what can war but endless war still breed?’

JOHN MILTON, Sonnets: To Lord Fairfax

THE NEW TESTAMENT SAYS:

“Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war.  Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. James 4: 1-4, N.K.J.V. Read 1 John 2: 15-17 also!

What a time to be alive today being a part and participants in what the ancient prophets were mere vicarious participants and spectators of in visions of earth’s frenzied activities in the last days!

Christianity, the State, and the Sunday-sabbath

FRIDAY MORNING MANNA

Biblical Numerology: NUMBER THREE- Part XLVIII

Christianity, the State, and the Sunday-sabbath

Thomas Jefferson, that “illustrious son of Virginia, who finally succeeded in separating church and state in that commonwealth and establishing religious freedom for all men, has this to say of its early history:”

“The first settlers [of Virginia] were emigrants from England, of the English Church, just at a point of time when it was flushed with victory over the religions of all other persuasions. Possessed, as they became, of the powers of making, administering, and executing the laws, they showed equal intolerance in this country with their Presbyterian brethren who had emigrated to the northern government . . . .

Will a “Christian” sharia-like Theocracy arise in America?

FRIDAY MORNING MANNA

Biblical Numerology: NUMBER THREE- Part XLVII

Will a “Christian” sharia-like Theocracy arise in America?

Let’s consider the matter in the light of ecclesiastical history—during the time of Christ, the Dark Ages in the Old World, and in America during its fledgling years:  First, my favorite author, Ellen G. White, penned the following based on Luke 17: 20-22:

“Some of the Pharisees had come to Jesus demanding ‘when the kingdom should come.’ More than three years had passed since John the Baptist gave the message that like of a trumpet call had sounded through the land,
