WE DESPERATELY NEED GENUINE GRACE IN THIS COVID-19 MOMENTOUS MOMENT

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

WE DESPERATELY NEED GENUINE GRACE IN THIS COVID-19 MOMENTOUS MOMENT

Good first working day morning of this week! Time to roll-up the sleeves of our mind. Check its spiritual oil dipstick first and see to makes sure you have enough oil of the Holy Spirit before starting its engines! Failure to do this has wrecked too many “brand new” Christian “character” cars. It lacks the “lubricating” power and properties of the Holy Spirit!

Let’s prayerfully and humbly turn to Jesus, the light, life, peace, wisdom and healer of our souls as He reveals Himself in the Written Word and ask Him what GRACE IS FOR.

NATURE STILL SPEAKS FOR GOD TO MAN

April 29, 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

NATURE STILL SPEAKS FOR GOD TO MAN

God, who at various times and different ways is still speaking to us, thank God.  He speaks “in a still small voice.” When we pretend to be deaf, He speaks to us and to the churches in “trumpet tones,” as in “the midnight cry” and the “loud cry” of the third angel’s message.

He has been speaking to us through nature but we have not been looking and listening, distracted by so many things, especially this covid-19 pandemic.

CAIN-LIKE OR ABEL-LIKE WORSHIPPERS?

April 28, 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

CAIN-LIKE OR ABEL-LIKE WORSHIPPERS?

See Genesis 4: 1-26.

Not all who say “Lord, Lord” are recognized by Him in their judgment, and not all who worship God have their worship accepted by Him. That’s the life-and-death lesson and test much greater than what we are experiencing now in the covid-19 global pandemic.

“Cain and Abel, the sons of Adam, differed widely in character.  “Abel had a spirit of loyalty to God; he saw justice and mercy in the Creator’s dealings with the fallen race, and gratefully accepted the hope of redemption.

IGNORANCE OF GOD’S WORD IS SIN

April 26, 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

IGNORANCE OF GOD’S WORD IS SIN.

“There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” Prov.16:25, KJV.

Good morning on this first working day of this week, four months now grappling with this covid-19 global pandemic with no certain path forward for the rest of the world, but not for those who have been diligently storing God’s Word in their minds.

We should be alarmed and afraid, not of being infected and dying of the corona virus but of committing the sin of negligence that results in the sin of ignorance of God’s Word! Observe:

The truth and the glory of God are inseparable; it is impossible for us, with the Bible within our reach, to honor God by erroneous opinions. Many claim that it matters not what one believes, if his life is only right.

THE SOLEMN DUTY TO ENCOURAGE & EXHORT THE “TROOPS”

April 21, 2020
FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

THE SOLEMN DUTY TO ENCOURAGE & EXHORT THE “TROOPS”

What are the effects of fearful and discouraging words during times of duress, calamity and adversity, according to It is Written?

When  the 12 men representing the 12 tribes Moses sent to spy out Canaan returned from their clandestine mission, 10 of them rendered “an evil report” that was discouraging and disheartening. You call that Bad News. “There are giants there, the sons of Anak and we are just like tiny grasshoppers.”

THE SECRET OF UNANSWERED PRAYER

April 20, 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

THE SECRET OF UNANSWERED PRAYER

“Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matt. 26:41, KJV.

Yes, you read it right. As there is a secret and a divine science to answered prayer, there is also a secret for the exact opposite!

But who in the world of praying Christians would ever want to know this “secret” at all? It is so counterintuitive you may say.  But of course.

NO VICTORY WITHOUT SUBMISSION & CO-OPERATION WITH CHRIST

April 19, 2020
FROM YOUR PASTOR ‘S DESK:

NO VICTORY WITHOUT SUBMISSION & CO-OPERATION WITH CHRIST

Good morning on the 31st day since our state’s governor declared a lock-down as a major mitigation strategy against the covid-19 enemy.

It’s for you to assess as to where tide is turning. Everyone has his own take and only time will tell if their hunches and determinations were sound or unsound.

Remember the first day of the Creator’s week, is today which the world, not the Bible calls Sunday, for that was what it really was, the day dedicated to the sun, an inanimate body to “rule the day.”

CALAMITY AND CRISIS REVEAL CHARACTER

“The time of trouble is the crucible that is to bring out Christ-like characters. It is designed to lead the people of God to renounce Satan and his temptations.” –  E.G. White, Review and Herald, Aug. 12, 1884.

Central to our topic in this edition, at this global moment of the Covid-19 Crisis, is the parable of the ten virgins, which is a parabolic-prophecy having a double-application rather than full-bore type-antitype when the historical midnight cry and the soon-coming latter rain-powered final loud cry of the fourth angel of Revelation 18 are compared, the former preceding the latter.
