Thyatira: Only One of the Seven Containing Recognition of Improvement

FRIDAY MORNING MANNA

Biblical Numerology: NUMBER SEVEN – Part 20

Thyatira:  Only One of the Seven Containing Recognition of Improvement

I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works: and the last to be more than the first. Rev.2: 19, K.J.V.

“As applied to Christian history, the message[s] to Thyatira [Rev. 2: 18-29] is particularly appropriate to experience of the church during the Dark Ages,” 538-1798 A.D. “The Dark Ages proved to be a time of surpassing difficulty for those who truly loved and served God” [as it will be in the closing, rapid final events of earth’s probation just ahead of our final generation], “and the Thyatira period may well be called the Age of Adversity. Because of persecution the flame of truth flickered and nearly went out” [had not God shortened the Dark Ages with the rise of the Protestant Reformation led by Martin Luther in Germany about a quarter of century before 1798. Matt. 24: 21, 22.

FRIDAY MORNING MANNA

Biblical Numerology: NUMBER SEVEN – Part 15

The Thyatira Period of the Church Began in 538 A.D.:

QUOTE FOR THE WEEK:

The social question of to-day is only a zephyr which rustles the leaves, but will soon become a hurricane. It is a dull ear that cannot hear the mutterings of the coming storm.’ – Disraeli, Cosmopolitan Magazine, May 1909, p. 655.FF 31.

—————

With record-breaking and unprecedented crisis after crisis hitting the current administration coming from multiple and multiplying directions both national and global—in so short a time–how will our beleaguered government leaders handle all these? How about the people, especially those looking up to human power, state and church, civil and religious?

THYATIRA: The Church’s Age of Adversity: The Dark Ages

18  And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write: These things saith the Son of God, who hath His eyes like a flame of fire, and his feet like fine brass 19  I know thy works and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the  last to be more than the first.  Revelation 2: 18, 19, K.J.V.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK:

All great alterations in human affairs are produced by compromise.

SYDNEY SMITH, Catholic Question

————————————

Thyatira. “The origin and meaning of this name is uncertain. Some have suggested that Thyatira means “Sweet savor of labor,’ perhaps on the basis of the ‘works’ of the church set forth in v. 19.” . . . As applied to Christian history, the message to Thyatira is particularly appropriate to the experience of the church during the Dark Ages [538- 1798, A.D. of 1,260 years].

EPHESUS: THE FIRST CONDITION OF THE CHURCH

FRIDAY MORNING MANNA

Biblical Numerology: NUMBER SEVEN – Part 10

EPHESUS: THE FIRST CONDITION OF THE CHURCH

To the angel of the church of Ephesus write:  ‘These things s says He who holds the seven stars in His right hand, who walks in the midst of the seven of the seven golden lamp stands (candlesticks, K.J.V).” Revelation 2: 1, N.K.J.V.

Let’s start from the very beginning of New Testament church history from the resurrection of Christ, followed fifty days after by the promised outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon 120 prepared disciples (including Mary, the mother of Jesus, at an upper room at Jerusalem—last mention  of her in the Bible) to the close of the first century, or the death of the last apostle, john the beloved, writer of the “big” gospel epistle and the three “little epistles” with his name, and the Revelation, of course.

The Seven Churches and Seven Stars of Revelation

FRIDAY MORNING MANNA

Biblical Numerology: NUMBER SEVEN – Part 8

The Seven Churches and Seven Stars of Revelation

Lord God Creator and the Lord’s Day.– It was on “the Lord’s day” (Rev. 1:10)—each seventh-day of the week, starting from His completed six literal days of creation, that the Creator rested, blessed, and sanctified the first seventh day of that first week and made the day for man, created the day before, christening the seventh day, and that day alone, with a proper name, the Sabbath day,” as thememorial day of the literal 6-day creation week (Exo. 20: 8-12).  Thus, from the very beginning, following the rule-of-first-mention, none need to be confused or misled as to what “the Lord’s day” refers to.

The Seven Churches: Church’s Seven Periods from Pentecost to the Remainder of Time

FRIDAY MORNING MANNA

Biblical Numerology: NUMBER SEVEN – Part 7

The Seven Churches:

Church’s Seven Periods from Pentecost to the Remainder of Time

In keeping with the rules of prophetic interpretation we have been considering in these series, particularly in studying Daniel and the Revelation, God chose seven of the many churches in Asia during the first century of the Christian era to represent the seven distinct periods of the church. Not to understand this is to fail to appreciate God’s omniscience, love, and control over the church which He endearingly calls “the apple of His eye.”

Revenge, at first thought sweet, bitter ere long back on itself recoils.

JOHN MILTON, Paradise Lost

See Joshua 10: 40-43; 4: 12, 13; chapter 11; 14: 6-15, 17; 17: 14-18; 18: 1-10; 19: 59, 50; chapter 11; chapter 22; 35: 31-33; Num. 25: 11, 13;  35: 11, 12; 35: 30-33; Gen. 9: 6; Exo.. 21:14; Jer. 7, 12, 14; Matt. 18: 16; Heb. 10: 26, 27; John 17: 20; 1 Pet. 3: 8, 9.

It would be interesting to see what their individual reactions would be, and how much, if any, it would influence their thinking for the present and the long-term in their powerful positions within their respective spheres of influence in forming policies and making decisions on the fly as presidents of two  nations that are currently on the spotlight of the daily news cycle:

Additional Lessons from the Feeding of the Five Thousand

FRIDAY MORNING MANNA

Biblical Numerology: NUMBER FIVE Part VI

Additional Lessons from the Feeding of the Five Thousand

(Messages for Holy Week Celebrants)

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Shallow men believe in luck, believe in circumstances.

Strong men believe in cause and effect.

RALPH WALDO EMERSON, Conduct of Life

_______

Most, if not all Catholics as well as other mainstream Christians will abstain from eating meat, but not fish, today, Good Friday of the Lenten Season.  If you still eat fish at this time of earth’s polluted history, check on the internet “Top 12 Contaminated Fish You Shouldn’t Be Eating.”www.manukafeed.com./contaminated-fish/?utm_source=yahoo8utm-campaign=yahoo-fish-us&utm-medium=cpc&utm_content=fishl. (Note: there are cookies on this site)

The Bible clearly distinguishes unclean and clean animals for eating purposes, including fish; the clean have fins and scales. All other sea and fresh water creatures are unclean, that is, according to the Creator’s love and wisdom, not man’s reasoning. See Leviticus 11: 1-47, etc. This divine classification was not only given to and for the Israelites but in the time of Noah!  See Gen. 6: 6: 17-22; 7: 1-24.
