THE NINTH COMMANDMENT “Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.”

June 14, 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

THE NINTH COMMANDMENT
“Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.” Exo.20: 16; Deut.5:20.

“The ninth commandment requires of us an inviolable regard for exact truth in every declaration by which the character of our fellowmen may be affected. The TONGUE [see James 3:1-18], which is kept so little under the control of the human agent, is to be bridled by strong, conscientious principles, by the law of love toward God and men.” E.G. White, Letter 15, 1895.

SPIRITUAL PRIDE SAYS: ‘I HAVE NEED OF NOTHING’

May 7, 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

SPIRITUAL PRIDE SAYS: ‘I HAVE NEED OF NOTHING’

As keepers of the commandments of God, we profess to be the people of God at the present time. And that is true. What is equally true is that our spiritual condition of lukewarmness distorts our spiritual vision so that we fail to see the importance, beauty, and power of the grace of true humility. We think we know and have everything.

But the True Witness has a very specific message and warning for us! When He says, “know ye not,” He reveals that this spiritual blindness is directly responsible for denying and depriving ourselves of the fullest blessings and benefits that true humility brings in its train!

HOW GOD HEARS, FORGIVES & HEALS

May 6, 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

HOW GOD HEARS, FORGIVES & HEALS

“If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2 Chron. 7:14, KJV.

Isn’t this one of the answers to the question all are asking today? How will we and “the land be healed” from this covid-19 plague-like scourge!

Are We A Saving Influence?

September 23, 2019

QUOTE FOR THE WEEK FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

Are We A Saving Influence?

See 2 Cor. 2:15, 16 first. Savor means “aroma” and “influence.”  Throw a pebble into a lake, and a wave is formed, and another, and another. As they increase the circle widens, until it reaches the very shore.

Beyond our knowledge or control it tells upon others in blessing OR cursing. Character is power.
