Are We A Saving Influence?

September 23, 2019

QUOTE FOR THE WEEK FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

Are We A Saving Influence?

See 2 Cor. 2:15, 16 first. Savor means “aroma” and “influence.”  Throw a pebble into a lake, and a wave is formed, and another, and another. As they increase the circle widens, until it reaches the very shore.

Beyond our knowledge or control it tells upon others in blessing OR cursing. Character is power.

The SILENT witness of a true, unselfish godly life carries an almost irresistible influence. By revealing in our own LIFE the character of Christ, we cooperate with Him in the work of SAVING souls…. But never forget that our influence is no less a power for evil. To lose one, soul is a terrible thing, but to cause the loss of other is still more terrible.

Many who profess to gather to Christ are scattering from Him. Many there are who will fear to meet at the bar of God the results of their influence. COL 340, 341. Is Christ truly living in our hearts and souls? Only then can we truly save others. A blessed week to all.   NMF
