HOW GOD HEARS, FORGIVES & HEALS

May 6, 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

HOW GOD HEARS, FORGIVES & HEALS

“If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2 Chron. 7:14, KJV.

Isn’t this one of the answers to the question all are asking today? How will we and “the land be healed” from this covid-19 plague-like scourge!

WE DESPERATELY NEED GENUINE GRACE IN THIS COVID-19 MOMENTOUS MOMENT

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

WE DESPERATELY NEED GENUINE GRACE IN THIS COVID-19 MOMENTOUS MOMENT

Good first working day morning of this week! Time to roll-up the sleeves of our mind. Check its spiritual oil dipstick first and see to makes sure you have enough oil of the Holy Spirit before starting its engines! Failure to do this has wrecked too many “brand new” Christian “character” cars. It lacks the “lubricating” power and properties of the Holy Spirit!

Let’s prayerfully and humbly turn to Jesus, the light, life, peace, wisdom and healer of our souls as He reveals Himself in the Written Word and ask Him what GRACE IS FOR.

THE FUNDAMENTALS OF RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

February 17 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

THE FUNDAMENTALS OF RELIGIOUS LIBERTY.

Based on the Bible and the First Amendment of Bill of Rights of the U.S. Constitution: “RELIGION is ‘the duty we owe to our Creator, and the manner of discharging it.’ LIBERTY is ‘the state of being exempt from the domination of others, or from restricting circumstances.

In ethics and philosophy, the power in any rational agent to make his choices and decide his conduct for himself, spontaneously and voluntarily, in accordance with reasons or motives.’ RELIGIOUS LIBERTY, therefore, is man’s exemption from the domination of others, or from restricting circumstances: man’s freedom to make his choices and decide his conduct for himself, spontaneously and voluntarily: in his duty to his Creator, and in the manner of discharging that duty.’ Since God created man, in the nature of things the first of all relationships is that to God; and the first of all duties could be nothing but duty to God.” A.T. Jones, “Individuality in Religion,” Introduction, 5,6.

Man’s Foolish Fear of the Effect rather than its Cause

Man’s Foolish Fear of the Effect rather than its Cause

“Inasmuch then as the children having partaken [sharers] of flesh and blood, He likewise shared [“partook,” K.J.V.] in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

Heb.  2: 14, 15, N.K.J.V

Man has this persistent fatal fascination, even to these closing hours of earth’s probation—to the demonic delight of “the “father of lies and murderer from the beginning” (John 8: 44)—they foolishly fear death, rather than sin. But sin is the cause, and death is its effect and consequence; and if not “speedily repented of” and overcome as the last Adam overcame, becomes its eternal reward. “The wages of sin is death.” Rom. 6: 23.

Does Imparted Divine Nature Make Us Divine?

Does Imparted Divine Nature Make Us Divine?

Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”

2 Pet. 1: 2-4, N.K.J.V.

It is by the power of Christ’s divine nature—rather than His incarnated human nature—that He gives all things pertaining to life, i.e., both temporal and eternal, and godliness. To those who willingly respond to His call to character glory, hence, virtue, obtain a knowledge of Him in this particular regard.

The Human Natures of the First and Second Adams: The First and Second deaths

The Human Natures of the First and Second Adams: The First and Second deaths

Here we will deal more specifically with the two Adams in the context of their corresponding human natures that the plan of redemption of the whole gospel deals with as the divine antidote for and answer to temptation, fallen sinful human nature, sin and its twin consequence of the first and second deaths.

All these and infinitely more had to be comprehended, played out, and fully resolved “before men and angels,” within the pre-determined time frame, on fallen earth, “in the likeness of sinful flesh” (Rom. 8: 2) that the Creator partook of and forever retains throughout the ages of eternity. These are astonishing aspects of that incomprehensible yet completely non-controversial “great mystery of godliness, that God was manifest in the flesh.” 1 Tim. 3: 16.

The Saving Flesh and Blood of the Passover Lamb

The Saving Flesh and Blood of the Passover Lamb

Now the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying . . .Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying . . every man shall take for himself a lamb, a lamb for a household . . . without blemish, a male of the first year.”

Exodus 12: 1, 2, 3, 5

The Passover feast was instituted on the last night of Israel’s bondage, immediately before the tenth plague was poured out whereupon at midnight all the first-born of the Egyptians, both man and beast were slain by the Lord’s angel of death that passed over the whole land. It was God’s final judgment upon atheistic Egypt headed by the blasphemous pharaoh at that time (probably Amenhotep II). The tenth plague was the last straw, forcing that pharaoh to release God’s people from bondage, setting off the Exodus movement—the type of the Advent Movement of the New Testament.

The Humanity That Will Forever Share with Divinity the Throne of the Universe

The Humanity That Will Forever Share with Divinity the Throne of the Universe

“Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest [most holy of the heavenly sanctuary] by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh.”

Heb. 10: 19, 20, N.K.J.V.

From Desire of Ages, pp. 23, 24:

“Nearly two thousand years ago, a voice of mysterious import was heard in heaven, from the throne of God, ‘Lo, I come.’ ‘Sacrifice and offering Thou wouldest not, but a body hast Thou prepared Me.  . . .  Lo, I come (in the volume of the Book it is written of Me,) to do Thy will, O God.’ Heb. 10: 5-7. In these words is announced the fulfillment of the purpose that had been hidden from eternal ages.
