HATRED, NOT LOVE FOR SIN IS CENTRAL TO THE PLAN OF SALVATION

September 4, 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

HATRED, NOT LOVE FOR SIN IS CENTRAL TO THE PLAN OF SALVATION

“But unto the Son He saith, Thy throne of God is forever and ever: a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Thy kingdom. Thou has loved righteousness and hated iniquity; therefore Thy God, even Thy God, hath anointed Thee with the oil of gladness above Thy fellows.”

Heb. 1: 8,9, Authorized Version.

God the Father addresses His only-begotten Son as GOD! And the Son like the Father, as in like father like son, LOVES righteousness and HATES iniquity (sin, the transgression of the law).

“Because of their SIN, God had to exclude Adam and Eve from the home He had prepared for them. It must have been with great sorrow of heart that the two left the place where they had first met, which held such blessed memories for them.”

TO ALL WHO REJECT OR DOUBT THE DEITY OF CHRIST, CONSIDER THIS

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

TO ALL WHO REJECT OR DOUBT THE DEITY OF CHRIST, CONSIDER THIS

“And again, when He (the Father) bringeth in the First-begotten into the world, He saith, Let all the angels of God worship Him.”

Heb. 1:7, KJV

“Let all the angels of God worship Him.’ These words are not found in our present Hebrew Bible, but are recorded in the Greek Septuagint [LXX].”

“This command to the angels is confirmatory of the Deity of Christ. As one of the Godhead, Christ was worshipped before He came to the earth. When He became man the question would naturally arise among the angels as to their right to worship Him; For if He was man, and ONLY man, He had NO right to receive worship.”

THE ‘MORE EXCELLENT NAME’

August 28, 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

THE ‘MORE EXCELLENT NAME’

“Being made so much better than the angels, as He hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.”

Heb. 1:4, A.V.

In a personal study I made many years ago on the significance of names in the Bible, using my Exhaustive Concordance of the King James Version (containing the Hebrew and Greek Lexicons), I counted the names and appellations and titles attached/ascribed to Christ: a total of 227!

PRESUMPTUOUS MISHANDLING OF GOD’S WORD PREPARES FOR SPIRITUALISM

July 22, 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

PRESUMPTUOUS MISHANDLING OF GOD’S WORD PREPARES FOR SPIRITUALISM

“Bind up the testimony, seal the law among My disciples. . . . And when they say to you, Seek those who are mediums and wizards, who whisper and mutter, should not a people seek their God? Should they seek the dead in behalf of the living? To the law and testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light (of truth) in them.”

Isa. 8:18,19,20, NKJV.

“In the days of Christ the leaders and teachers of Israel [the Jewish nation] were powerless to resist the work of Satan. They were neglecting the ONLY means by which they could have withstood EVIL SPIRITS. It was by the Word of God that Christ overcame the wicked one.”

“The leaders of Israel professed to be the expositors of God’s Word BUT they had studied it only to SUSTAIN their traditions, and enforce their man-made observances. By their interpretations they made it express sentiments that God has NEVER given.”

TRUE BIBLE SANCTIFICATION

July 12, 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

TRUE BIBLE SANCTIFICATION

“The sanctification set forth in the Scriptures has to do with the ENTIRE BEING—spirit, soul, and body.

“Here is the true idea of entire consecration. Paul prays that the church…may enjoy this GREAT BLESSING: “The very God of peace sanctify you wholly: and I pray God your WHOLE spirit and soul and body be PRESERVED BLAMELESS unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Thess. 5:23, KJV.

All Earthly Kingdoms Headed for History’s Dustbin

All Earthly Kingdoms Headed for History’s Dustbin

“Blessed by the name of the Lord forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His. And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings [and kingdoms] and raises up kings [and kingdoms].” See Daniel 2: 20-22, NKJV.

Lest we forget or lose sight of the far greater and grander things and issues of eternal consequences with all these distractions and schemes of Satan and fall victims to the worst yet to come, we fretful, fitful, “busybody” finite mortals need to calm down and “come down to earth from our imaginary high places” and be reminded that:—

Elisha’s Three Successive Different Prayers of Faith

Elisha’s Three Successive Different Prayers of Faith

(Based on: 2 Kings 6: 8-33; as told in Prophets and Kings, ch.21)

Before Elijah, only the second man after Enoch (the seventh of the godly patriarchs from Adam), was translated, God hand-picked Elisha to succeed, continue and expand on Elijah’s prophetic and reformation ministry. Elisha’s father was an affluent yet God-fearing farmer whose household were among “the seven thousand who had not bowed the knee to Baal during the time of well-nigh universal apostasy of Israel during the reign of king Ahab and queen Jezebel, his wicked and cruel heathen wife. See 1 Kings 19: 1-10, 11-20.

To underscore our focus today on faith versus fear, we cite the examples of two faith giants, Moses and Elijah, compared and contrasted to Christ’s temptations, who at their weakest moments, which were few were few and far in between yet momentous, allowed their faith to be temporarily overcome by fear. They yielded to the temptation to fear. Anytime and every time we yield t0 any temptation we sin against God. The following is quoted from Prophets and Kings:

JESUS MAGNIFIED HIS LAW & MADE IT HONORABLE: HOW ABOUT THE RELIGIOUS LEADERS?

June 10 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

JESUS MAGNIFIED HIS LAW & MADE IT HONORABLE: HOW ABOUT THE RELIGIOUS LEADERS? See Isa 42:21

“Many religious teachers assert [who claim ‘the Bible and the Bible only’ as the basis of faith] assert that Christ by His death abolished the law, and men are henceforth free from its requirements. There are some [multitudes by now] who represent it as a ‘grievous yoke’; and in contrast to the ‘bondage of the law,’ they present the ‘liberty’ to be enjoyed under the gospel.

“But NOT SO did the prophets and apostles regard the holy law of God. Said David, ‘I will walk at liberty: for I seek Thy precepts.’Ps.119:45. The apostle James who wrote AFTER the death of Christ, refers to the Decalogue as the ‘royal law’ [Law of the King and His kingdom]’ and the ‘perfect law of liberty.’ James 2:8; 1:25.
