THE THREE PHASES OF CHRIST’S WORK OF ATONEMENT ON EARTH SUMMARIZED

Jesus said: “I must work the works of Him that sent Me, while it is day: the night cometh when no man can work.”

From His prophesied baptism to His crucifixion, Jesus, the Creator incarnate into human flesh and blood nature, accomplished His appointed work and mission on earth within the specified time of three and a half years according to the 70-week prophecy of Daniel 9 24-27. His work of atonement, at-one-meant, in three phases, is summed up below:

THE ‘PURIFICATION OF SINS’ OF HEBREW 1:3 REFERS TO CHRIST’S WORK OF ATONEMENT PROPHESIED IN THE 70-WEEK PROPHECY OF DANIEL 9: 24.

Atonement is actually the work ‘at-one-meant.’ Some aspects of the atonement need further consideration.

“If Christ made ‘purification of sins,’ and SIN STILL EXISTS [to this very moment], what is meant by ‘purification of sins’? This question still becomes more important when we learn that not only was Christ to make purification of sins POSSIBLE but He was to ‘MAKE AN END OF SINS,’ and that this was to be accomplished WITHIN THE PROPHETIC PERIOD OF 70 WEEKS. CLAIMING THE MERITS OF CHRIST’S CLOSING WORK OF ATONEMENT

Mainstream Christianity clings to the mistaken idea that Christ’s work for the redemption of sinners ended at the cross. When Jesus said, “It is finished” as He was expiring, it was the sacrifice of His life and and shedding of His blood that was “finished” as the “Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world.”

He then resurrected after His death to become our merciful High Priest, pleading His own blood in behalf of all penitent sinners who are repenting and confessing their sins. This is how the repentant sinner is justified by the blood of Christ, never by his “works!!”

WHEN is the Day of Atonement, commonly known as Yom Kippur? It depends on what calendar one is following: the Rabbbinical Calendar which is based on the Oral Tradition or the Karaite Calendar which is based on the written text.

It is vital to remember that Jesus himself and all His disciples and apostles presented and defended the truth of the gospel based on “it is written,” not “spoken,” though they came by way of spoken voice of the invisible God or by the inspiration of the invisible Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Godhead.

Spiritual Lessons for the Church Today from the Ceremonial Feasts and Festivals, Including the Added Rosh Hashanah

“Festivals. Celebrations or observances recurring yearly, mostly connected with the ceremonial law [“the law” blotted out at Christ’s death, not the Decalogue]. Three times in the year all Hebrew men were required to gather at Jerusalem (Exo. 23: 14-17; Deut. 16: 16) to celebrate the three [annual] harvest festivals:—

(1) (which immediately followed the Passover supper held the preceding night) in the middle of the first month, at the beginning of the barley harvest (Lev. 25:5-14); [the Passover was permanently replaced by Christ with the Lord’s Supper instituted on evening of the 4^th and last Passover He participated in. The Third Angel and the Fourth Angel

See Revelation 14: 6-12. We begin with the “third angel” and the nature of his work and message. The identity and work of the “fourth angel” follows later in this short series.

Here’s an overview (a review for some): The final loud cry of the Revelation 18 “fourth angel” joins the third angel of Revelation 14, at the right time, whose message and work has been “swelling,” meaning, increasing in scope and magnitude since its start even as the midnight cry, in fulfillment of the parable of the Ten Virgins, joined the second angel’s message in the summer of 1844
