MEANING OF ‘SAT DOWN AT THE RIGHT HAND OF THE MAJESTY ON HIGH’

August 25, 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

MEANING of ‘SAT DOWN AT THE RIGHT HAND OF THE MAJESTY ON HIGH’

When Christ, the anti-typical “Lamb of God” expired on the cross on 31 A.D, a victor over all the temptations and sins that all mankind is subject to, He rose on the “third day” a victor over death and the grave and ascended to the heavenly sanctuary to assume His office and work as High Priest (embracing the functions as Advocate, Mediator and Intercessor) for penitent and repentant sinners. This is the Priesthood of Christ as typified by the Aaronic and Levitical priesthood and their function and work throughout the Old Testament Mosaic era up to the first coming of Christ as the prophesied Messiah.

When Christ has finished His work on earth the Bible tells us that He ascended to heaven and “sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high” [God the Father].

SINS: PURGED AT CALVARY, PURIFICATION CONTINUES

August 9, 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

SINS: PURGED AT CALVARY, PURIFICATION CONTINUES

May the Sabbath blessings received yesterday anchor our faith and feet as we hopefully forge forward to complete another week that brings us closer to our desired haven of rest! Let’s pickup where we left off last Friday:

The phrase under consideration (Heb.1:3) ‘purification of sins,’ Wescott says, ‘may express either (1) the cleansing of sins, i.e., the removal of the sins. Compare Matt. 8:3; Job 7:21 (Exo.30:10), or (2) the cleansing of the person FROM sins.’  The Epistle to the Hebrews, p.15.”

CLAIMING THE MERITS OF CHRIST’S CLOSING WORK OF ATONEMENT

May 5, 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

CLAIMING THE MERITS OF CHRIST’S CLOSING WORK OF ATONEMENT

Mainstream Christianity clings to the mistaken idea that Christ’s work for the redemption of sinners ended at the cross. When Jesus said, “It is finished” as He was expiring, it was the sacrifice of His life and and shedding of His blood that was “finished” as the “Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world.”

He then resurrected after His death to become our merciful High Priest, pleading His own blood in behalf of all penitent sinners who are repenting and confessing their sins. This is how the repentant sinner is justified by the blood of Christ, never by his “works!!”

THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT WITH FIRE

April 30, 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT WITH FIRE

Good Thursday morning! I was led back last night to the precious subject of the Holy Spirit, who is slowly withdrawing from the earth, as evidenced by the continuous train of calamities quickly following one another to the global covid-19 pandemic.

Let us therefore humbly and prayerfully ponder upon the following:

“The Relationship of Calvary and Pentecost.”

“The baptism of the Holy Spirit is described by John the Baptist to the the ESSENTIAL, VITAL purpose of the ministry of Jesus Christ. I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but He that cometh after Me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire.” Matt. 3:11 (See also John 1:33.
