Which is Deadlier: Deception or Temptation?

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord, shall enter the kingdom of heaven . . . Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Thy name, cast out demons in Thy name, and one done many wonderful things in Thy name? And then I will declare unto them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice iniquity ”

Matt. 7: 23

Calling upon His, i.e., Jesus Christ’s name, invoking the authority and power His name, apparently doing the very works He entrusted to His disciples, apostles and followers— prophesying, which of course comprehends teaching and expounding on the prophecies, casting out demons, ah! Yes! exorcising demons out of the possessed, and doing many wonderful things, including performing miracles of course!

The ‘beast that ascends from the bottomless pit’ and the Two Witnesses/Prophets-Part2

FRIDAY MORNING MANNA

The ‘beast that ascends from the bottomless pit’ and the Two Witnesses/Prophets–Part 2

“And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not: for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread underfoot forty and two months.” Rev. 11: 1, 2.

The Significance of Number Four and Forty in the Bible

FRIDAY MORNING MANNA

Biblical Numerology: NUMBER FOUR – Part I

The Significance of Number Four and Forty in the Bible

Jesus Christ, mankind’s only Savior and Mediator, is a God of order. The gentle “Shepherd and Bishop of our souls” (1 Pet. 2: 25) knows and numbers His sheep who also “know His voice and follow Him” (John 10: 4, 7, 11, 27, K.J.V.)

He “makes all things beautiful in His time” (Eccl.3: 11). He is the One whom the gospel prophet prophesied: “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon His kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.” Isa. 9: 6-9.

The Godhead’s Witness: We Three are One

FRIDAY MORNING MANNA

Biblical Numerology: NUMBER THREE- Part LIII

The Godhead’s Witness: We Three are One

This is He who came by water and blood—-Jesus Christ; not only by water, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that bears witness, because the Spirit is truth. For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one.2 John 5: 6-8, N.K.J.V.

As summarized in our main text above, God reveals all throughout the Scriptures that:  “In the mouth of two or three witnesses that truth is established.” See Deut. 17: 6; 19: 15; Dan. 3: 12-30 (Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego); Matt. 17: 1-4; 18: 16, 20; 2 Cor. 13: 1; 1 Tim. 5: 19; Heb. 10: 28; Rev. 11: 3.

The Three Mighty Truths Regarding the Holy Spirit

FRIDAY MORNING MANNA

Biblical Numerology: NUMBER THREE- Part LII

The Three Mighty Truths Regarding the Holy Spirit

Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.” Rom. 8: 26, 27, N.K.J.V.

French poet Charles Baudelaire said, “The greatest trick the devil pulled was fooling the world into believing that he does not exist.” Mark Twain wrote: “It’s easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled.” Remember this familiar line? “If a man fools me once, shame on him; twice, shame on me.”

TWO LAYMEN DISCIPLES TESTIFY TO THE RESURRECTION OF CHRIST

See Luke 24: 13-33. We may never be called to occupy a prominent place in Christ’s work but if we are earnest and honest believers in Him, we are His disciples with whom He walks and talks with through the Holy Spirit as we walk our personal dark, lonely “road to Emmaus.” But in time, we can also tell a wonderful story of our walk to Emmaus and say, in retrospect, when hindsight is 20/20, “Did not our hearts burn within us, while He talked with us by the way, and while He opened to us the Scriptures?”

Christ is even now walking and talking with us, though we don’t immediately hear or recognize it, perhaps because of dwelling upon the dark shadow of the cross instead of its glorious, resurrection side! The beloved apostle says: “In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.” John 1: 2-5, N.K.J.V.

THE TWO WITNESSES OF REVELATION CHAPTER 11

David, the “sweet psalmist and singer of Israel” wrote: “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path,” and composed this song: “You are my lamp, O Lord; the Lord shall lighten my darkness. For by You I can run against a troop; by my God I can leap over a wall. As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the Lord is proven: He is a shield to all who trust in Him.” Ps. 119: 105; 2 Sam. 22: 29-31, N.K.J.V.

Solomon, whose name means “peaceable” and in one passage is called Jedidah, “beloved of Jehovah” (2 Sam. 12: 25), had God-given extraordinary “wisdom and exceedingly great understanding, and largeness of heart like the sand of the seashore . . having “wisdom [that] excelled the wisdom of all the men of the East and all the wisdom of Egypt. For he was wiser than all men—than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, Chalcol, and the Darda, the sons of Mahol; and his fame was in all the surrounding nations.
