The Mysteries of the Seven Churches, Stars, and Golden Candlesticks

FRIDAY MORNING MANNA
Biblical Numerology: NUMBER SEVEN – Part 9
The Mysteries of the Seven Churches, Stars, and Golden Candlesticks

Write the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which will take place after this. The mystery of the seven starts which you saw in My right hand, and the seven golden lamp stands (candlesticks, KJV). The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lamp stands which you saw are the seven churches. Revelation 1: 19, 20 N.K.J.V.

By nature, whether in the prelapsarian (see Eve’s curiosity for the forbidden mysterious tree and its fruit) but definitely much more in the postlapsarian nature, human beings are magnetized and even mesmerized by things and occurrences that appear strange and sound mystical. “It’s magic,” as they say. As kids we loved to be regaled with fairy tales and spooky stories whether folklore, embellished local yarns or imported ones like Cinderella, Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves, etc. We never seemed to outgrow it, sad to say. Technology advances has rendered old spiritualistic ideas and mediums even more hypnotically alluring, as in a fatal attraction, because they are ridiculously lucrative as well.

The Seven Churches: Church’s Seven Periods from Pentecost to the Remainder of Time

FRIDAY MORNING MANNA

Biblical Numerology: NUMBER SEVEN – Part 7

The Seven Churches:

Church’s Seven Periods from Pentecost to the Remainder of Time

In keeping with the rules of prophetic interpretation we have been considering in these series, particularly in studying Daniel and the Revelation, God chose seven of the many churches in Asia during the first century of the Christian era to represent the seven distinct periods of the church. Not to understand this is to fail to appreciate God’s omniscience, love, and control over the church which He endearingly calls “the apple of His eye.”

The Divine Method of Prophetic Revelation

FRIDAY MORNING MANNA

Biblical Numerology: NUMBER SEVEN – Part 6

‘The Divine Method of Prophetic Revelation’

This is an unabashed personal appeal urging the reader to review—and if you haven’t already done so—to read/study Daniel and the Revelation by Uriah Smith. I am currently reviewing it again with my KJV Bible and the references from the inspired pen.

Many students of Biblical prophecy, Daniel and Revelation In particular, have concluded that it is one, if not the definitive book on the two interconnected major prophetic books of the Bible.  The Bible scholar, prolific writer and editor, Uriah Smith, lived and wrote this book over a century ago and his understanding and interpretations have stood the test of time. As introduction to reviewing the seven churches, seven seals, seven trumpets, seven last plagues, and other vital sevens in the Revelation, we first quote his words appearing as the title head of this column, pp. 339-344:

God’s Expanded Number 7 Plan- No. 2

FRIDAY MORNING MANNA

Biblical Numerology: NUMBER SEVEN – Part 4

God’s Expanded Number 7 Plan- No. 2

The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, Thou shalt preserve them from this generation forever. Psalms 12, 6, 7, K.J.V.

One of Almighty God’s first spoken and written  warnings to fallen mankind, particularly addressed to those set apart and tasked with the grave responsibility of safeguarding the purity of God’s word that has been “purified seven times,” acting as Holy-Spirit-guided expositors of Christ’s everlasting gospel, magnifying His law as the transcript and standard of His merciful and just character,  and teaching the only plan of salvation devised by the Godhead as detailed in the sanctuary message—the spiritual guardians of the people—is also the same last warning to be recorded after earth’s final merciful warnings given in the three and fourth angels’ messages of Revelation 14 and 18, respectively.

God’s Expanded Number 7 Plan

FRIDAY MORNING MANNA

Biblical Numerology: NUMBER SEVEN – Part 3

God’s Expanded Number 7 Plan

“And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there shall be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.”-

Jesus Christ to His disciples, Matthew 24: 6, 7, N.K.J.V.

Americans celebrated, many in the same modern hedonistic spirit of other holiday celebrations and festivities, “eating, drinking, and surfeiting” as the antediluvians did just before the Flood but with special emphasis on gorging on unhealthy (non-vegetarian) hot dogs and gleefully watching their hard-earned dollars literally go up in flames they themselves lit in—fireworks—while this, according to the Hunger Project, is  the stomach-churning reality taking place in the midst of the food glut in America, the world’s largest Christian nation:

Crescendo Principle in Prophetic Interpretation (Continued)

FRIDAY MORNING MANNA

Biblical Numerology: NUMBER SEVEN Part 2

Crescendo Principle in Prophetic Interpretation (Continued)

In his Certainty of the Third Angels’ Message, Louis F. Were, late Australian Bible scholar, evangelist, and author, First Impressions 7776 Bluff View, Berrien Springs, MI, pp. 196-198, says:

“From the dawn of creation God has employed the meaning of names by which to teach His children. The intelligence test which God gave Adam was that of giving appropriate names to each species of life. ‘Out the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he could call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.” Gen. 2: 19, 20.  The names given were indicative of the characteristics or purpose. We also read: ‘Adam also called his wife’s name Eve [margin, i.e., Living],because she was the mother of all living.’ Gen. 3: 20.

St. Columba of Ireland was a Sabbath-keeper

FRIDAY MORNING MANNA

Biblical Numerology: NUMBER FIVE Part IV

St. Columba of Ireland was a Sabbath-keeper

QUOTE OF THE WEEK:

When religion is good, it will take care of itself; when it is not able to take care of itself, and God does not see fit to take care of it, so that it has to appeal to the civil power for support, it is evidence to my mind that its cause is a bad one.” –

“Letter to Dr. Price” by BENJAMIN FRANKLIN, sage of the Continental Congress

“Professor Andrew Lang says of them [churches set up or inspired by St. Patrick]:

‘They worked on Sunday, but kept Saturday in a Sabbatical manner.’  —‘A History of Scotland from the Roman Occupation,’ Vol. I, p. 96. New York: Dodd, Mead, and Co., 1900.

“Dr. A. Butler says of Columba:

‘Having continues his labors in Scotland thirty-four years, he clearly and openly foretold his death, and on Saturday, the ninth of June, said to his disciple Diermit: ‘This day is called the Sabbath, that is, the rest day, and such will it truly be to me; for it will put an end to my labors.’ —‘Butler’s Lives of the Saints,’ Vol. I, A.D. 597, art. ‘St. Columba,’ p. 762. New York: P. F. Collier.

Saint Patrick was Never a Catholic says Historians

FRIDAY MORNING MANNA

Biblical Numerology: NUMBER FIVE Part III

Saint Patrick was Never a Catholic says Historians

QUOTE OF THE WEEK:

A lie travels round the world while Truth Is putting on her boots.

CHARLES HADDON SPURGEON,Truth and Falsehood

For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endureth through all generations. Psalms 100:5, K.J.V.

We digress a bit from our close focus on our series on the five wise and five foolish virgins of the parable in order to address an issue regarding this day, that, when seen from a larger perspective,
