WHAT TO EAT THE HEAVENLY MANNA MEANS.

July 23, 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

WHAT TO EAT THE HEAVENLY MANNA MEANS.

“Man does not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.”

Matt. 4:4; cf. Deut. 8:3, A.V.

Jesus said, “the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life.” Find time, with all the downtime afforded by this pandemic crisis, to prayerfully read John chapter 6.

“The life of Christ that gives LIFE to the world is IN His Word. It was by His Word that Jesus healed disease and cast out demons; by His Word He stilled the sea, and raised the dead; and the people witnessed that ‘His Word was with power.’

Understanding the Spiritual Kingdom of God

“And when He was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of should come, He answered them and said, ‘The kingdom of God cometh not with observation (outward show, margin): neither shall they say, ‘Lo here! or lo there! For, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.”

Luke 17: 20, 21, KJV, Authorized Version

According to the Bible a king is: “A male sovereign in whom is invested supreme authority over a tribe or nation. Generally, rule is for life and succession is on a hereditary basis. That over which he rules is called a kingdom.

“The kings of ancient heathen nations were often considered as deities or direct descendants of a deity. [The Egyptian kings, known as pharaohs, were worshipped as deities in the first atheistic world empire, ancient Egypt].

THE TENTH COMMANDMENT. “Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s house, wife, manservant, maidservant, ox, ass nor ANYTHING that is thy neighbor’s.”

June 15, 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

THE TENTH COMMANDMENT. “Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s house, wife, manservant, maidservant, ox, ass nor ANYTHING that is thy neighbor’s.” Exo. 20: 17.

God is also called Palmoni, “the divine Numberer” and is a God of order who “numbers the numberless stars of the heavens” and the number of hairs on our heads. Number Ten in the Bible stands for ‘completion,’ hence there are only Ten Commandments that cover our “whole duty to God and to our fellowmen.

Uncontrollable Forces Waiting

‘Uncontrollable Forces Waiting’

The nation and the whole world is ‘testing the waters.’ In fits and starts, afflicted, inflicted and conflicted America, sharing the same lot with the rest of the edgy, wary and weary world is “testing the waters” to see how quickly and widely it can “open up” and rescue its rapidly-sinking economy—the other pecuniary half of the health pandemic, — without prematurely reactivating a more devastating “second wave” by this fall, as feared by the health scientists.

With sustained physical (more practical than “social”) distancing, using masks (which unsurprisingly has been turned into a “novel” fashion item, or weaponized as political statement), and other aggressive yet so common-sense sanitary and cleansing protocols to mitigate the pandemic, the much-sought after covid-19 test and contact-tracing novel mechanism, is to reveal and hopefully contain and control the spread of infection of this no-longer novel virus, until either a super vaccine, “herd immunity” is acquired on a national scale or a highly improbable permanent “cure” is found.

Super Blessings Disguised as Super Calamities

Super Blessings Disguised as Super Calamities

“Blessings in disguise.” I know it’s so cliché. And yet it has never lost its luster of truth and relevance, particularly for those who have become familiar with how God has mysteriously led in the past from one bad crisis to another worst one to this present Covid-10 crisis. And, as God’s servant said it best, “We have nothing to fear for the future except as we shall forget the way the Lord has led us.” (TM 31; LS 190; 9T 10).

Through whom will God work especially through in a crisis?

“He will work through those who can see mercy in misery, and gain in loss. When the Light of the world passes by, privilege will be discerned in hardship, order in confusion, success in apparent failure. Calamities will be seen as disguised blessings, woe, as mercies. Laborers from the common people, sharing the sorrows of their fellowmen, as their Master shared the sorrows of the whole human race, will by faith see Him working with them. ‘The great day of the Lord is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly. Zeph. 1: 14. The world [around us] is to be warned.” E. G. White, Education, p. 270.

DO NOT POSTPONE OR NEGLECT TO PREPARE!

“How shall we escape, if we neglect such a great salvation; which at first began to be spoken [declared] by the Lord, and was confirmed [attested] unto by them had heard Him.” Hebrews 2: 3, K.J.V.

“If you are right with God today, you are ready if Christ should come today.”- E.G. White, In Heavenly Places, p. 227

In verses 1 and 2 of our lead verse, the apostle wrote:  “Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at ay time we should let them slip, for if the word spoken by angels was steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward (see verse 3 above).”

THE THIRD COMMANDMENT

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

THE THIRD COMMANDMENT

“Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that takes His name in vain.” Exo.20:7.

“This commandment not only prohibits false oaths and common swearing, but it forbids us to use the name of God in a light and careless manner, without regard to its awful significance. By the thoughtless mention of God in common conversation, by appeals to Him in trivial matters, and by the frequent and thoughtless repetition of His name, we dishonor Him. ‘Holy and reverend is His name.’ (Ps.111:9]. All should meditate upon His majesty, His purity and holiness, that the heart may be impressed with a sense of His exalted character; and His holy name should be uttered with reverence and solemnity.” -Patriarchs & Prophets, pp. 306, 307.

MT. SINAI’S TERRORS REPRESENT THE SCENES OF JUDGMENT

May 11, 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

MT. SINAI’S TERRORS REPRESENT THE SCENES OF JUDGMENT

Mankind fears not what they should and fears what they should not. See Exodus chapter 19 leading to the giving of the law in chapter 20.

Instead of “fearing God and giving glory to Him for the hour of His Judgment has come,” they continue to brazenly transgress and trample upon His law by which the world, globally, is, and will be judged. Notice the relationship of Sinai and the Judgment—it is infinitely more fearful than this covid-19 pandemic:
