THE ‘MORE EXCELLENT NAME’

August 28, 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

THE ‘MORE EXCELLENT NAME’

“Being made so much better than the angels, as He hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.”

Heb. 1:4, A.V.

In a personal study I made many years ago on the significance of names in the Bible, using my Exhaustive Concordance of the King James Version (containing the Hebrew and Greek Lexicons), I counted the names and appellations and titles attached/ascribed to Christ: a total of 227!

REMEMBER WEEKLY THE CREATOR’S MEMORIAL DAY

May 25, 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

REMEMBER WEEKLY THE CREATOR’S MEMORIAL DAY

See Exodus 20 : 8-11. And God said: “Moreover I also gave them My Sabbaths, to be a SIGN between them and Me, that they might know that I SANCTIFY them.” Ezekiel 20 : 12 (See verse 20).

To the remnant who are faithfully keeping the commandments of God and overcoming their transgressions of God’s Law by grace, the “sign,” which also means “mark,” or “seal” has already been “written” in their mind, because it has already been committed to memory.

THE THIRD COMMANDMENT

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

THE THIRD COMMANDMENT

“Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that takes His name in vain.” Exo.20:7.

“This commandment not only prohibits false oaths and common swearing, but it forbids us to use the name of God in a light and careless manner, without regard to its awful significance. By the thoughtless mention of God in common conversation, by appeals to Him in trivial matters, and by the frequent and thoughtless repetition of His name, we dishonor Him. ‘Holy and reverend is His name.’ (Ps.111:9]. All should meditate upon His majesty, His purity and holiness, that the heart may be impressed with a sense of His exalted character; and His holy name should be uttered with reverence and solemnity.” -Patriarchs & Prophets, pp. 306, 307.

IT IS WRITTEN: YOU CAN OVERCOME IN CHRIST’S STRENGTH

March 9, 2020
FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

IT IS WRITTEN: YOU CAN OVERCOME IN CHRIST’S STRENGTH

“Therefore in all things He has to be made like His brethren that He might be a merciful High Priest. . . In that He Himself has suffered being tempted, He is able to aid(succor) those who are tempted.” Heb. 2:17,18.

“Because fallen man could not overcome Satan with his human strength, Christ came from the royal courts of heaven to help man with His human and divine strength COMBINED. Christ knew that Adam IN EDEN with his superior advantages might have withstood the temptations of Satan and conquered him.

The Fourth of the Seven Trumpets: What the ‘smiting of the third part of the sun, moon, and stars’ mean

Friday Morning Manna

The Fourth of the Seven Trumpets: What the ‘smiting of the third part of the sun, moon, and stars’ mean

And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.” Revelation 8: 12, K.J.V.

“The sun, moon, and stars have been interpreted to represent the great luminaries of the Western Roman government—its emperors, senators, and consuls. With the extinction of Western Rome in A.D. 476, the last of the emperors ceased to reign. Later its senate and consulship came to an end.” Elucidating on the seven trumpets, specifically the fourth, Uriah Smith, in his book Daniel and the Revelation, quotes at least three historians–Gibbon, Keith, and Elliott, whose individual works share the same interpretation of the trumpets. Four Angels of Revelation 7: Parenthetical Part of the Seven Seals

FRIDAY MORNING MANNA

Biblical Numerology: NUMBER FOUR & FORTY– Part XIV

Four Angels of Revelation 7: Parenthetical Part of the Seven Seals

QUOTE FOR THIS ISSUE:

“If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

– Sun Tzu, “The Art of War,” Chinese General and Military Strategist

“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain.” 1 Cor. 15: 57, 58, N.K.J.V.

The Bible clearly reveals four general yet overarching truths mankind should have long understood intellectually and spiritually if but for the nefarious work of deception and the woeful combination of pride, obstinacy, thus, sinful ignorance of the willingly deceived. Only then will much of what is intentionally enshrouded in mystery, resulting in confusion, prejudice, fear, hatred, and
