WHAT TO EAT THE HEAVENLY MANNA MEANS.

July 23, 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

WHAT TO EAT THE HEAVENLY MANNA MEANS.

“Man does not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.”

Matt. 4:4; cf. Deut. 8:3, A.V.

Jesus said, “the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life.” Find time, with all the downtime afforded by this pandemic crisis, to prayerfully read John chapter 6.

“The life of Christ that gives LIFE to the world is IN His Word. It was by His Word that Jesus healed disease and cast out demons; by His Word He stilled the sea, and raised the dead; and the people witnessed that ‘His Word was with power.’

NOT A GREAT CITY NOR A GRAND CATHEDRAL OR TEMPLE BUT A HUMBLE MOUNTAIN

July 21, 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

NOT A GREAT CITY NOR A GRAND CATHEDRAL OR TEMPLE BUT A HUMBLE MOUNTAIN

“And when He has spoken these things, while they yet beheld, He was taken up: and a cloud received Him out of their sight.”

Acts 1: 9, A.V. (Read verses 10-12).

“At the place of His ascension, Jesus chose the spot so often hallowed by His presence while He dwelt among men.”

“Not Mount Zion, the place of David’s city, not Mount Moriah, the temple site, was to be thus honored. There [in these man-honored places] Christ has been mocked and rejected. There the waves of mercy, still returning in a stronger tide of love, had been beaten back by hearts as hard as rock. Thence Jesus, weary and heart-burdened, had gone forth to find REST IN THE MOUNT OF OLIVES.”

GRACE OF HUMILITY: ANTIDOTE TO APOSTASY

July 8 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

GRACE OF HUMILITY: ANTIDOTE TO APOSTASY

“Draw nigh (near) unto God and He will draw nigh unto you. Cleanse your hands ye sinners [from the spiritual ‘coronavirus’]; and purify your hearts, ye double-minded.”

James 4:8, Authorized Version

“The nearer the Christian lives to God, the more he advances in divine illumination of mind. He has more distinct sense of his own littleness, discerns his defects of character, and sees his duty in the light in which God presents it.

“The more closely he draws to Jesus, the more he has a bear and clear sense of his defects which had before escaped his notice, and he sees the necessity of humbling himself under the mighty hand of God.

THE CHRISTIAN’S PILGRIM, NOT PRINCELY LIFE ON EARTH

July 2 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

THE CHRISTIAN’S PILGRIM, NOT PRINCELY LIFE ON EARTH

“Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through MUCH TRIBULATION enter into the kingdom of God.” Acts 14:22, KJV.

Like his Master and Savior’s life on earth: “The Christian’s life is a strangely mingled scene of sorrows and joys, disappointments and hopes, fears and confidence. There will be much dissatisfaction with self, as he views his own heart so deeply stirred, surged with passion that seems to bear all before it, and then follows remorse and sorrow and repentance, followed by peace and deep hidden joys, because he knows, as his faith grasps the promises that are revealed in God’s Word, that he has the FORGiVING LOVE OF A LONGSUFFERING SAVIOR. And that Savior, he seeks to bring INTO his life, WEAVE into his character.

GOD’S PHILOSOPHY REVEALED IN HIS LAW OF TRUTH & RIGHTEOUSNESS

July 1, 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

GOD’S PHILOSOPHY REVEALED IN HIS LAW OF TRUTH & RIGHTEOUSNESS

“To the law and the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” Isa. 8:20, KJV.

“The wisdom and power of God, working upon the receptive [not doubting, murmuring or stubborn] heart, brings mind and character into harmony with the laws and rules of heaven. INDIVIDUALLY we must have the guidance of the Holy Spirit, in order to COMMUNICATE to the world the great facts of truth and righteousness.

“We are bidden to sound an ALARM [not a peace-and-safety message] to the people. The WATCHMAN must not fail now…..We are to instruct and guide souls look to Christ’s [not any man’s] example, to realize their obligation to Him, whose they are by creation and redemption. He is the OWNER of every man, woman. and CHILD that comes into the world. This became by paying the redemption price [with His own incarnate life].

THE PERFECT LAW OF A PERFECT GOD vs THE IMPERFECT LAWS OF IMPERFECT MAN

June 25, 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

THE PERFECT LAW OF A PERFECT GOD vs THE IMPERFECT LAWS OF IMPERFECT MAN

“The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul.” Psalms.19:7, KJV.

“The laws which God have His ancient people were wiser, better, and more humane than those of the most civilized nations of the earth. The laws of nations bear the marks of infirmities and passions of the unrenewed [unconverted] heart]; but God’s law bears the stamp of the divine.

ACHAN’S SECRET SIN EXPOSED PUBLICLY BY GOD

June 17, 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK;

ACHAN’S SECRET SIN EXPOSED PUBLICLY BY GOD. “For God will bring every secret thing into judgment, whether they be good or evil.” Eccl. 12:14.

Continuing from yesterday: “God’s command has been disregarded by of those appointed to execute His judgments. And the NATION was held accountable for the guilt of the transgressor. THEY have even taken of the accursed thing
and have also STOLEN, and DISSEMBLED also’ instruction was given to Joshua for the discovery and punishment [judicial procedures] of the criminal. The [casting of] lots was to be employed for the DETECTION of the guilty. The sinner was NOT directly pointed out, the matter being left to DOUBT for a time, that the people might FEEL their RESPONSIBILITY for the sins existing among them, and thus be led to SEARCHING of HEART and HUMILIATION before God.

JESUS MAGNIFIED HIS LAW & MADE IT HONORABLE: HOW ABOUT THE RELIGIOUS LEADERS?

June 10 2020

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

JESUS MAGNIFIED HIS LAW & MADE IT HONORABLE: HOW ABOUT THE RELIGIOUS LEADERS? See Isa 42:21

“Many religious teachers assert [who claim ‘the Bible and the Bible only’ as the basis of faith] assert that Christ by His death abolished the law, and men are henceforth free from its requirements. There are some [multitudes by now] who represent it as a ‘grievous yoke’; and in contrast to the ‘bondage of the law,’ they present the ‘liberty’ to be enjoyed under the gospel.

“But NOT SO did the prophets and apostles regard the holy law of God. Said David, ‘I will walk at liberty: for I seek Thy precepts.’Ps.119:45. The apostle James who wrote AFTER the death of Christ, refers to the Decalogue as the ‘royal law’ [Law of the King and His kingdom]’ and the ‘perfect law of liberty.’ James 2:8; 1:25.
