QUOTE OF THE WEEK:
A lie travels round the world while Truth Is putting on her boots.
CHARLES HADDON SPURGEON,Truth and Falsehood
For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endureth through all generations. Psalms 100:5, K.J.V.
We digress a bit from our close focus on our series on the five wise and five foolish virgins of the parable in order to address an issue regarding this day, that, when seen from a larger perspective,
Remembering those the World and the Churches have Forgotten: Waldenses, Albigenses, and Huguenots
The last Monday of May is designated a federal Memorial Day, annually set aside for remembering people who died while serving the nation’s armed forces. It is not to be confused for Veteran’s Day, celebrated everyNovember 11 which honors and thanks all military personnel who served the U.S. in all wars, particularly the living veterans. Originated as Decoration Day after the American Civil War in 1868, Memorial Day typically marks the start of summer vacation season, while Labor Day, celebrated every first Monday of September, marks its end.
“For the Lord thus spake to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of the people, saying, Say ye not, a Confederacy [“conspiracy,” NKJV], to all them to whom this people shall say, a Confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, not be afraid. Sanctify the Lord of hosts Himself; and let Him be your fear, and let Him be your dread…..To the law and the testimony, if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.’ Isaiah 8: 11-13, 20, KJV.
“The question has been asked, What do mean by a Confederacy? Who have formed confederacies? You know that a confederacy is? —a union of men in a work that does not bear the stamp of pure, straightforward, unswerving integrity/” – Ellen G. White, Manuscript 29, 1911/4BC 1142.
Biblical Numerology: NUMBER THREE- Part XXVI
Is the Protestantism still alive 500 years after its birth?
We resume from where we left off last week on “The Three-fold Union of Protestantism, Romanism, and Spiritualism” and focus on the Protestant Reformation and where it is today. There are alternating sad and happy news. But our omniscient and omnipotent Lord and Savior, “the Alpha and Omega,” “the same yesterday, today, and forever” has promised eternal deliverance.
Biblical Numerology: NUMBER THREE – Part XXXIII “Three Mediums of Communication: Visions, Urim & the Prophets: Lessons for the Nation and the Church(es) Today – Part A”
“God, who at various times and in different ways spoke in time past to fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds. Hebrews 1: 1, 2, N.K.J.V.”
The different ways God spoke in time past include three specific mediums by which He communicated His will for the nation during the first and last theocratic form of human church government on earth till He returns to eternally install His kingdom of glory in the earth-made-new.
THE TWO WITNESSES REVIVED AND RESTORED – Part VIII
After three days and a half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them. Revelation 11: 10, K.J.V.
The historian George Storrs, quoted in Daniel and the Revelation, Uriah Smith, says that:
“But ‘the triumphing of the wicked is short;’ so was it in France, for their war on the Bible and Christianity had well-nigh swallowed them all up. The set out to destroy Christ’s ‘two witnesses,’ but they filled Franc with blood and horror, so that they were horror-struck at the result of their wicked deeds, and were glad to remove their impious hands from the Bible.’ – Midnight Cry, May 14, 1843, Vol. IX, Nos. 5, 6, p. 47.
ATHEISTICAL FRANCE’S WAR AGAINST THE TWO WITNESSES – Part V
And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendedth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them and kill them. 8 And their bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where our Lord was crucified. Rev. 11: 7, K.J.V.
“In the year 1793 . . . the gospel was, by a solemn act of the Legislature and the people abolished in France . The indignities offered to the actual copies of the Bible were unimportant after this; their life is in their doctrines, and the extinction of the doctrines is the extinction of the Bible. By the decree of the French Government, declaring that the nation acknowledged no God, the Old and New Testament wereslain throughout the limits of Republican France. But contumelies to the Sacred Books could not have been wanting, in the general plunder of every place of worship. In Lyons they were dragged at the tail of an ass in a procession through the streets . . . .

If today’s Christian mainstream only knew half of what and how the Christian Bible has survived and flourished till now, and why it has been the object of calumny and so much mysterious hatred, listen to what Lord Byron said: “The best of prophets of the future is the past.” In short, history will repeat itself. Study and fall in love with your Bible now. The days of liberty to heed its instructions and obey God’s immutable Decalogue according to the dictates of conscience through the Holy Spirit, are numbered.
“In the sixteenth century the Reformation, presenting an open Bible to the people, had sought admission to all the countries of Europe. Some nations welcomed it with gladness, as a messenger of Heaven. In other lands the papacy succeeded to a great extent in preventing its entrance; and the light of Bible knowledge, with its elevating influences, was almost wholly excluded. In one country, though the light found entrance, it was not comprehended by the darkness. For centuries, truth and error struggled for the mastery.
