Possessing the Peace that Passeth Understanding

September 9, 2019

QUOTE FOR THE WEEK FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

Possessing the Peace that Passeth Understanding.

“Great peace have they who love Thy law and nothing shall offend them.” Ps. 119:65. See Matt. 8: 23-34; Mark 4: 35-41; Luke 8: 22-39.

Like the first disciples we are all aboard the same boat that is negotiating the turbulent sea of life headed towards the destination called heaven and eternal life. “How often the first disciples’ experience of forgetfulness and lack of faith is ours today!

When the tempests of temptation and trial gather around us, the fierce Lightning’s flash, and the waves sweep over us, we battle the storm alone, forgetting that Jesus is on board with us, seemingly asleep in the midst of the torrents and turmoil.

All He awaits is for us to remember Him, pleading, “Master of the earth, sea and sky, save me!” He who is “the same yesterday, today and forever” the mighty God in the flesh, will never fail to give us the very help we need according to His mercy and wisdom! He spoke to the angry waves, “Peace be still,” and they instantly obeyed. He speaks the same to us today. Will we trust His Word and find rest and peace in Him—“O we of little faith”?  NMF
