TEACH US TO NUMBER OUR DAYS

November 6, 2019

MID-WEEK MESSAGE FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

TEACH US TO NUMBER OUR DAYS.

“The days of our lives are seventy years; and if by reason of strength they are eighty years, yet their boast is only labor and sorrow, for it will soon be cut off, and we fill fly away…..So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom (apply our hearts unto wisdom, KJV).” Psalms 90: 10,12, NKJV.

Without life time has no existence, no meaning, no value. God in Christ alone is the Source, Giver and Sustainer of life, temporal and eternal. Thus we read: “Our time belongs to God. Every moment is His, and we are under the most solemn obligation to improve it to His glory.

Present Truth for the last days

November 4, 2019

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

“Therefore I will not be negligent to remind you always of these things, though you know them, and are established in the present truth.” 2 Pet. 1:13 (see verses 1-12).

What constitutes Present Truth for the last days? These are made up of vital “essentials, “foundational truths,” or “pillars.” The integrity of any structure is determined by the soundness of its foundation and the adequacy and strength of its pillars.

Everything else is just the superstructure. The Five essential pillars of Present Truth are: 1) The second advent of Jesus 2) the binding claims of the Decalogue, including the 7th day Sabbath and the perpetuity and immutability if God”s law 3) the 3rd angel’s message in its fullness, in correct relationship to the 1st and 2nd angels’ messages.

The Enlightenment that a Study of the Incarnation and the Godhead Brings

The Enlightenment that a Study of the Incarnation and the Godhead Brings

“No man has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us. By this we know that we abide in Him, and He is in us, because He has given us of His Spirit. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world. Whosoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God [not the mere “son of Mary”], God abides in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.”

1 John 4: 12-16

“However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth, for He will not speak of His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you all things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.”

John 16: 13-15.

And “What God hath joined together, let no man put asunder (or “let not men separate).”Matt. 19: 6. After the last merciful warnings proclaimed in the three angel’s messages of Revelation 14 comes the last warning of the whole Bible: “For I testify to everyone who hears the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, and from the holy city [the New Jerusalem from above], and from the things which are written in this book.” Rev. 22: 18, 19.  This is actually not a New Testament warning but a repetition from the Old:

The Great Gift-Giver

October 28, 2019

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

Our Father in heaven, the Great Gift-giver of “every good and perfect gift,” answers our prayer requests oftentimes not in a big, dramatic miraculous package but in little packages, delivered daily at our doorsteps  that we may be trained to develop to perfection gratitude and praise from the heart and lips— two of the noblest attributes of the saints of the last days.

We all should unlearn the unlovely and unsaintly tendency and habit of carelessly taking for granted the “little” gifts, talents and opportunities. “He who is faithful in the least will be faithful in much.” There is no such thing as a “small” or a “little sin here and there.”

The Fullness of the Godhead Bodily in Infinite Humanity

The Fullness of the Godhead Bodily in Infinite Humanity

“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead (as in “firstfruits of them that slept.” 1 Cor. 15: 20-23), that in all things He may have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.”

Col. 1: 15-20, N.K.J.V.

“Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the Head of all principality and power.”

Col. 2: 8-10.

“For the Word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.”

Heb. 4: 12, 13.

[The “word” here is either Christ Himself, the Word, the spoken word or the written word, as in “Thus saith the Lord and ‘it is written,” respectively].

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him was not anything made that was made . . . . and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only-begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”

John 1: 1-3, 14.

Ah indeed! The glorious glory of the fullness of grace and truth in the Word made flesh!

Everything In The World Is In Agitation

October 21, 2019

QUOTE FOR THE WEEK FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

“Everything in the world is in agitation. The signs of the times are ominous. The Holy Spirit is gradually yet progressively withdrawing from the earth, and calamity follows calamity by sea and by land. There are tempests, earthquakes, fires, floods, murders of every grade. Who can read the future? Where is security?

There is assurance in nothing that is human or earthly. Rapidly are men ranging themselves under the banner they have chosen. Restlessly are they waiting and watching the movement of their leaders.

Does Imparted Divine Nature Make Us Divine?

Friday Morning Manna

October 18, 2019

Does Imparted Divine Nature Make Us Divine?

Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”

2 Pet. 1: 2-4, N.K.J.V.

It is by the power of Christ’s divine nature—rather than His incarnated human nature—that He gives all things pertaining to life, i.e., both temporal and eternal, and godliness. To those who willingly respond to His call to character glory, hence, virtue, obtain a knowledge of Him in this particular regard.
