What is a Confederacy?

FRIDAY MORNING MANNA

Biblical Numerology: NUMBER THREE- Part XXVII

 What is a Confederacy?

“For the Lord thus spake to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of the people, saying, Say ye not, a Confederacy [“conspiracy,” NKJV], to all them to whom this people shall say, a Confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, not be afraid. Sanctify the Lord of hosts Himself; and let Him be your fear, and let Him be your dread…..To the law and the testimony, if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.’ Isaiah 8: 11-13, 20, KJV.

“The question has been asked, What do mean by a Confederacy? Who have formed confederacies? You know that a confederacy is? —a union of men in a work that does not bear the stamp of pure, straightforward, unswerving integrity/” – Ellen G. White, Manuscript 29, 1911/4BC 1142.

Biblical Numerology: NUMBER TWO – Part XVIX

HOW MANY CLASSES OF ANIMALS ARE THERE? – Part V

Diet and exercise, both requiring work, are the two major factors vital to staying healthy and fit as long as mortally possible—physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, and everything else in the eight (some say, ten) laws of health outside of DNA, which, basically, is beyond our control. However, wiseGEEK in the internet says, “Many people are used to thinking of DNA as unchanging programming that governs all the body’s responses for the rest of a person’s life. In essence, certain things about our DNA are unlikely to change, ever. There are a number of outside things that could result in minor change, however. As you age, for instance, you may note DNA expression changes in a variety of ways. Hair gets gray, skin gets wrinkly, and diseases are common.”

The Holy Spirit: do we really know Him? – Part V

For thus says the High and Lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and the holy place, with him who has a  of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the hearts of the contrite ones. Isaiah 57: 15, N.K.J.V.

Self-renunciation, condition of receiving the Holy Spirit. Of John the Baptist, the forerunner of Christ’s first coming, it is said that:

Are We Preparing for the Latter Rain?– Part XXXVII

A Sabbath-Keeping People (conclusion)

To all freedom-loving Americans at heart, Happy July Fourth! This annual American federal holiday isthe official day commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence from the United Kingdom (Great Britain). The original declaration was prepared on July 2 by a Committee of Five, its principal author being Thomas Jefferson, assisted by John Adams, second president of the U.S., and leading advocate of the independence movement.  The Continental Congress then debated on it, revised its wording and approved it on July 4. Today we celebrate the 238th  Memorial Day of that Declaration of Independence.

Are We Preparing for the Latter Rain?– Part XXXIII

 A Temperate People (last part)

The Mind a Treasure.  “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 2: 5. It is only as we have the mind of Christ can we practice Bible temperance. God in the flesh doesn’t force us into becoming temperate in all things. He appeals to our reasoning powers. When He says, “Can two walk together, unless they are agreed” (Amos 3:3), He bids, “Come now, and let us reason together.” Isaiah 1: 18.

Are We Preparing for the Latter Rain?– Part XXX

A Working People (Continued)

Apostle Paul’s urgent plea for all Christians in these last days is: “Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds (works,K.J.V.) of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. But everything exposed by the light becomes visible, for it is light that makes everything visible. This why it is said: Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you. Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of opportunity [redeeming the time, K.J.V.], because the days are evil.” Ephesians 5: 9-15, N.I.V.

Are We Preparing for the Latter Rain?– Part XXIX

A Working People (Continued)

Sunday, May 11, is Mother’s Day. It’s the mothers, not the day that truly matters.

Responsible, especially godly mothers are the hardest-working, often unrecognized and certainly “uncanonized” living saints on earth by heaven’s estimate for they have a position of a missionary in the highest sense and are co-workers with the minister in the home. They joyfully yet solemnly realize that: “The child’s first teacher is the mother. During the period of greatest susceptibility and most rapid development his education to a great degree is in her hands. To her first is given opportunity to mold the character for good or evil. She should understand the value of her opportunity, and above every other teacher, should be qualified to use it to the best account.”- E. G. White, Child Guidance, p. 63. Southern Publishing Asso.1953.

Are We Preparing for the Latter Rain?– Part XXVIII

A Working People

The wise man said, “Go to the ant thou sluggard, consider her ways and be wise.” Proverbs 6: 6 (see verses 7-11). Jesus said, “The harvest truly is great but the laborers are few.” Luke 10:2“Occupy till I come.” Luke19:13. We need to pay closer attention to what “the Lord of the harvest” meant by “harvest” and “laborer” particularly in the context of preparing for the Latter Rain. Inspiration says, “The harvest of life is character, and it is this that determines destiny, both for this life and the life to come.” (Ed 109); it is “the end of probationary time,” “the end of the world.” See parable of the wheat and tares, Matt. 13: 24-30, 37-43 and Christ’s Object Lessons, pp. 72, 75.
