HEBREWS CHAPTER ONE SUMMARIZED

In fourteen pithy verses of Hebrews chapter 1, Paul  introduce us to Christ’s DEITY as the Son of God. In chapter 2 Christ’s incarnate HUMANITY is  revealed to us as the Son of man.

“In the first chapter the apostle sets out to prove the deity of Christ, and successfully accomplishes his task. His purpose in writing the book requires him to establish beyond a doubt that Christ IS God. He intends to show that the CEREMONIES that had been instituted by Moses at the command of God [under the ceremonial law of the Mosaic dispensation of the Old Testament time] had been fulfilled and abolished by Christ [when type met antitype and the shadow met its substance].

“And when He has spoken these things, while they yet beheld, He was taken up: and a cloud received Him out of their sight.”

Acts 1: 9, A.V. (Read verses 10-12).

“At the place of His ascension, Jesus chose the spot so often hallowed by His presence while He dwelt among men.”

“Not Mount Zion, the place of David’s city, not Mount Moriah, the temple site, was to be thus honored. There [in these man-honored places] Christ has been mocked and rejected. There the waves of mercy, still returning in a stronger tide of love, had been beaten back by hearts as hard as rock. Thence Jesus, weary and heart-burdened, had gone forth to find REST IN THE MOUNT OF OLIVES.”

“The temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was SEEN in His temple THE ARK OF HIS TESTAMENT.” Rev. 11:19, KJV.

“The ark of God’s Testament is in the holy of holies, the second apartment of the sanctuary. In the ministration of the earthly tabernacle, which served ‘unto the EXAMPLE and SHADOW of heavenly things’ this apartment was opened ONLY upon the great day of atonement, for the CLEANSING of the sanctuary.

“Therefore the announcement that the temple of God was OPENED in heaven, and the ark of His testament was seen, POINTS to the opening of the Most Holy place in the heavenly sanctuary, IN 1844, as Christ [in His office as our merciful High Priest] entered there to perform the CLOSING WORK of atonement.

“For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ [cross of self-denial]: whose end is destruction, whose god is their BELLY, and whose glory is in their shame—who set their mind on EARTHLY things.” Phil 3:18,19,NKJV.

This current global crisis is disease-centered, multiple other crises branching out from it. To cut to the chase and better understand why, instead of vainly waiting for the “experts” who can’t even agree among themselves, turn to the eternal Source of all wisdom. Rejoice: the Spiritual Apostolic Succession Remains Unbroken!

    Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus. Hebrews 3: 1, K.J.V.

From the most comprehensive and inclusive sense possible, based on the preponderance of both Scripture and history evidence, this is how and who “the church that appears to fall but will not.” Why? It’s Cornerstone and Foundation has been from birth, none other than Jesus Christ, the Creator-incarnate, the Master Apostle and High Priest of its faith. His chosen follower-disciples-apostles through centuries of gross moral and doctrinal darkness, superstition, and bitter persecution, have steadily and progressively built this church-temple, empowered by the Holy Spirit and ministered to and defended from all that Satan’s “gates of hell” have schemed and attacked it by.

 The Six Men from Upper Gate of the North – II

 

      “These six things the Lord hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: a proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, a false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among brethren.” King Solomon, Proverbs 6: 16-19, N.K.J.V.

 

Note again the six things our God of love, power, and wisdom hates, and the seventh rounding out the rest, renders them an abomination to Him! Aren’t these, and more as we shall see revealed to prophet Ezekiel, are what precisely characterizes the times in which “we live and move and have our being”— the antitypical national and global repetition of the past sad experiences of ancient Judah and Israel!?

II Chronicles 7: 14 is the key Scripture of the founders of the 9/11 National Day of Prayer and Repentance movement that many mainstream Christians hope will precipitate an end times spiritual awakening in America.

One of the leading causes for not comprehending, thus misapplying God’s Word is failing to be like the early Berean Christians whom Paul and Silas commended as being “more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.” Acts 17: 20, 11.
