WHAT IS THE TRUE INTERPRETATION OF REVELATION 16: 12-16? (The Threefold Union in the Battle of Armageddon (Continued)

As we drive down the highway of divine prophetic chronology, we see all sides along the busy route getting more crowded, cluttered, and raucous with competing and confusing sounds of wars and rumors of wars, lilting swan songs, flashing colored lights of various virtual yet really fantasies, alluring peace-and-safety messages cranked out by religious charlatans, the promise of earthly honor, pomp, and prosperity offered by a thousand and one deceived-turned-deceiver purveyors of error, and encounter all manner of wolves dressed in sheep’s clothing.

And yet all these affirm that we are entering the long-looked-after final stretch of the prophetic journey mapped out by the 2300-day prophecy of Daniel 8: 14. The sudden and strange turn of events in the current political cycle in America (more of this later!), the groaning of our tired, abused old earth and its polluted atmosphere manifested in the so-called natural and man-made (never Satan-caused!) catastrophes etc., all speaking of the approach of the most momentous time of earth’s history.

PROPER PROPHETIC TIME-SETTED MOVEMENTS VS. UNBIBLICAL ONES

(Continued from last week): Ellen Gould Harmon first heard of the Sabbath truth from Joseph Bates (1790-1872), a retired sea captain who accepted the Advent doctrine in 1839 and the seventh-day Sabbath in 1845. Bates “became an apostle of the Sabbath truth. He often served as chairman at early conferences, and was the first conference president, being elected in Michigan in 1861. He ranged New England and north central states for years as an evangelist.” On August 30, 1846 Ellen married James White. By autumn of that year they began keeping the seventh–day Sabbath. In the summer of 1849 James White began to publish Present Truth at Middletown, Connecticut. The Advent Review, a “periodical-like publication (was) put out by James White and his associates in the summer and fall of 1850 in six sixteen page issues and a 48-page special, reviewing the teachings of the leaders in the Millerite Advent Movement of 1840-1844. This publication should not be confused with the Second Advent Review and Sabbath Herald which was started in November, 1850, following the eleven issues of Present Truth (cited above) published in 1849 and 1850.” (Read more of Ellen G. TIME-SETTING AFTER 1844 HAVE, AND WILL ALL FAIL IN TIME PREDICTIONS

And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire. The mighty angel–Christ Himself. “The mighty angel who instructed John was no less a personage than Jesus Christ. Setting His right foot on the sea, and his left on the dry land, shows the part which He is actingin the closing scenes of the great controversy with Satan. The position denotes His supreme power and authority over the whole earth. The controversy has waxed stronger and more determined from age to age and will continue to do so, to the concluding scenes when the masterly working of the powers of darkness shall reach their height. Satan, united with evil men, will deceive the whole world and the churches who receive not the love of the truth [see 2 Thess. 2: 9-12, K.J.V.] But the mighty angel demands the attention. He cries with a loud voice. He is to show the power and authority of His voice to those who have united with Satan to oppose the truth.

NO PROPHETIC TIME EXTENDS BEYOND 1844

We also have the prophetic word made sure, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawn, and morning star rises in your hearts: knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke, as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. 2 Peter 1: 19-21, N.K.J.V.

More than anything else, prophecies fulfilled are the timeless monuments impervious to corrosion and eloquent witnesses throughout the history of mankind of God’s perfect wisdom and knowledge of the end from the beginning as “the Alpha and Omega,” and His ultimate direction and control over the affairs of man and the earth (Daniel 2: 21) without suppressing or withholding the individual will—the power of choice He Himself created into man as a free moral agent to discern and choose between righteousness and unrighteousness, truth and error;

THE PROPHETIC TIMETABLE FROM 538 A.D. TO 1844 (Continued).

Steve Jobs (1955-2011) left large footprints of accomplishments in the sands of the tech-savvy realm during these closing stages of earth’s history—with many quotable quotes to boot. One of them (as quoted in the seventh paragraph below) should urge most of us lesser-intellectually endowed fellow mortals to seriously re-examine our present attitudes, values, priorities, and future plans and aspirations in the light of three things, namely:

First, the mind-boggling scientific and technological advances with their unprecedented opportunities to do good as well as evil in the world, which his creative genius, as one of the giants of the information age helped shape and accelerate. As co-founder of Apple, a brief rundown of some of his direct and indirect contributions to our too-rapidly-increasing “tech-savviness” and the heretofore unknown forms of addictions, etc., that it has spawned and the overly-interconnected global society that spelled the death knell for the once-sacrosanct space of personal privacy—include the Apple II (the world’s first marketed personal computer; the iMac; the iBook; the I Pod; iTunes; I Phone, and glass staircases, etc.

“It suits the policy of Satan that men should retain the forms of religion if but the spirit of vital godliness is lacking. After the rejection of the gospel, the Jews continued zealously to maintain their ancient rites they rigorously preserved their national exclusiveness, while they themselves could not but admit that the presence of God was no longer manifest among them. Biblical Numerology: NUMBER THREE – Part XVII THE PROPHETIC TIMETABLE FROM THE COVENANT WEEK TO 1844 (Continued)

The last prophetic week or seven literal years of the Covenant week of Daniel 9: 24-27 began with the baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist as “the Lamb of God,” Christ “the Anointed” the equivalent of the Hebrew Mashiach, the promised “seed of a woman” (Gen. 3: 15; Gal. 4: 4, 5). After completing His prophesied work exclusively in Palestine, among His own chosen people—as the “Teacher come from God” (John 3: 2), the “Prophet like Me, raised up from your midst, from your brethren” (Deut. 18: 15, 18), they, in strange collusion with their hated Roman masters temporarily united, and crucified Him “in the midst of the week, or three and half literal years after, A.D. 31. John the beloved disciple records this plain gospel truth: “He came to His own, and His own received Him not.” John 1: 11, K.J.V. (see verses 1-14).

The remaining three and a half years witnessed the disciples—the Twelve and the seventy—continuing Christ’s work as He commanded them, particularly after the endowment of the Holy Spirit’s power at Pentecost, fifty days after His resurrection. In addition, they now proclaimed with unwonted power in Jerusalem the glorious truths clustering around His crucifixion, death, and resurrection.

THE PROPHETIC TIMETABLE FROM THE COVENANT WEEK TO 1844

The Day, Month, and Year. Many of the most eminent scholars of various faiths through the centuries believed in the great outline prophecies of the Bible. Bible scholars of different denominations agree that in prophetic time a day is equivalent to one literal year (Num.13: 34; Eze. 4: 6), the year being 360 days. The literal day is a full 24 hour-day in the primal, literary sense. According to the Bible reckoning in Genesis chapter 1, “evening-morning” designated a 24-hour period beginning at sunset (evening), hence, “Evening-Morning” and ends the following sunset, not midnight.

Thus the beginning of the dark part of the day was designated “evening” and always precedes the light part of the day, called “morning.” The fact that in Daniel 8: 14 the word for “evening” precedes “morning” undoubtedly implies the same sequence—a full 24-hour day, not half a day, as some try to reinterpret the 2300-day prophecy by rendering the 2300 days as 1150 days, etc.
