Jesus told the religious leaders of His day: “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written: . . . In vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men. For laying aside the commandments of God, you hold the Traditions of men . . . All too well you reject the commandments of God that you may keep your Tradition . . .
