 See Revelation 14: 6-12. We begin with the “third angel” and the nature of his work and message. The identity and work of the “fourth angel” follows later in this short series.

 Here’s an overview (a review for some): The final loud cry of the Revelation 18 “fourth angel” joins the third angel of Revelation 14, at the right time, whose message and work has been “swelling,” meaning, increasing in scope and magnitude since its start even as the midnight cry, in fulfillment of the parable of the Ten Virgins, joined the second angel’s message in the summer of 1844

 First, we conclude last week’s focus on the ecumenical bandwagon picking up speed and “passengers” with the Papacy behind the wheel and the once-Protestant churches being the car, with this: only one Protestant denomination, considered the fastest-growing church in America, as of 2011, has been conspicuously absent in the official listing of the World Council of Church’s membership and all the flurry of the reunification activities since the Vatican II—the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.

The Union that the Third Angel’s Message Warns of

 We wish to remind the reader of the engine that drives this column from its inception, with a quote from the first of my favorite authors:

     “The Holy Spirit’s work is to guide into all truth [John 16: 13, 7-15]. When you depend on the Word of the living God with heart, and mind, and soul, the channel of communication will be unobstructed. Deep, earnest study of the Word under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, will give you fresh manna, and the same Spirit will make its use effectual . . . Then it [the soul] will be led into all truth.” – Ellen G. White, With God at Dawn (Devotional), p. 122.

What Evangelical Protestants Owe the German Princes?

 

   To think that God acts in history by the intermediary of political actions of man, revolutionary or conservative, is the complete opposite of hope.- Jacques Ellul.

Ellen G. White in her book Great Controversy (1911 ed.), “Protest of the Princes” ch. 11, quoted below, reminds the remainder of evangelical Protestants of the epic history of the heroic struggle the vastly outnumbered German princes put up in refusing to compromise with Rome in the sixteenth century so that in this 21st century, Christianity is still enjoying religious freedom and free access to God’s Word where over a thousand years these were treated as heresies punishable by some of the worst forms of torture invented through the Office of the Inquisition.

 What is a Confederacy?

    “For the Lord thus spake to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of the people, saying, Say ye not, a Confederacy [“conspiracy,” NKJV], to all them to whom this people shall say, a Confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, not be afraid. Sanctify the Lord of hosts Himself; and let Him be your fear, and let Him be your dread…..To the law and the testimony, if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.’ Isaiah 8: 11-13, 20, KJV.

Is the Protestantism still alive 500 years after its birth?

We resume from where we left off last week on “The Three-fold Union of Protestantism, Romanism, and Spiritualism” and focus on the Protestant Reformation and where it is today.  There are alternating sad and happy news. But our omniscient and omnipotent Lord and Savior, “the Alpha and Omega,” “the same yesterday, today, and forever” has promised eternal deliverance.
