COOPERATION WITH DIVINITY IS VICTORY.
“Let no man present the idea that man has little or nothing to do in the great work of overcoming; for God does nothing for man without His co-operation. Neither say that after you have done all you can on your part, Jesus will help you (Not “God helps those who help themselves.”) Why? “Jesus said, ‘Without Me you can do nothing.”
From first to last we are to be laborers together with God. And unless the Holy Spirit is allowed to work in our hearts, we will stumble and fail at every step. Man’s efforts alone are nothing but worthlessness; but cooperation with God means victory.
This is also what Jesus means when He says “I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. Everyone who has a realizing sense of what it means to be a Christian, will purify himself of everything that weakens and defiles.
All the habits of his life will be brought into harmony with the requirements of the word of truth, and he will not only believe but will ‘work out his salvation with fear and trembling’, while submitting to the Holy Spirit. Then- Christ looks at the spirit, and when He sees us carrying our burdens with faith, His perfect holiness atones for our shortcomings.When we do pure best, He becomes our righteousness.” NL65,66.
Pray for the baptism of the Holy Spirit and be faithful to God and to one another as a church family! NMF
