MID-WEEK MESSAGE FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:
THE PRESENT TRUTH OF REVIVAL & REFORMATION
“Therefore I will not be negligent to remind you always of those things, though you know them, and are established in the present truth.” 2 Pet. 4:12.
“We are in the great [anti-typical] day of atonement, when our sins are, by confession and repentance, to go beforehand to judgment [Dan. 8:14; Eccl.12:13,14].
God does not now accept a tame, spiritless testimony from His ministers. Such a testimony would not be present truth. His message for this time must be ‘meat in due season’ [Luke 12:42;2 Tim. 4:2-4] to feed the church of God. . . We must no longer remain on enchanted ground.
We are fast approaching the close of our probation. Let every soul inquire, How do I stand before God? We know not how soon our names may be taken up into the lips of Christ, and our case be finally decided. What, Oh what will these decisions be? Shall we be counted
with the righteous, or shall we be numbered with the wicked?
God calls for a spiritual revival and reformation. Unless this takes place, those who are lukewarm (Rev. 3:14-17) will continue to become abhorrent to the Lord until He will refuse to acknowledge them as His children. A revival and reformation must take place under the ministration of the Holy Spirit (genuine early rain experience).
Revival and Reformation are two different things. Revival signifies a renewal of spiritual life, a quickening of the powers of the mind and heart, a resurrection from spiritual death. Reformation signifies a reorganization, a change in ideas and theories, habits and practices. Reformation will not bring forth the good fruits of righteousness unless it is connected with the revival of the Spirit. Revival and Reformation are to do their appointed work [like justification and sanctification], and in doing this work they must blend.” 1SM 127-8.
