THE BIBLICAL JUBILEE
Even in his fallen condition, if only man humbly followed God’s simple plan to meet the basic needs and welfare of human society, particularly the poor and underprivileged, they were even assured that though earth itself was cursed as one of the first three caused by sin (Gen. 3: 17-19) it would not prematurely degrade through abuse and greed.

THE THREE PERSONS OF THE GODHEAD (Continued)
The three things that stand out in the Bull of Indiction of the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy, or Misericordiae Vultus issued by Pope Francis, are, once more: (1) The opening, then sealing of this “door or mercy” or “this extraordinary time of
grace.” This was discussed last issue, as space allowed. (2) The time period during which this Marian mercy is extended is called an Extraordinary Jubilee Year. Why extraordinary? This is a Roman Church-declared Jubilee. What about the Biblical Jubilee? We will discuss the latter in its type-and-antitype application in more detail in the next issue(s). (3) The granting of Indulgences during this Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy. Let’s focus on this subject and its interconnected issues, which, hopefully, will help us realize what its serious ramifications were in the past, thus, for the days ahead.

We repeat the first paragraph of our May 15, 2015 issue, Part VIII: “The recent Bull of Indiction of the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy, Misericordiae Vultus, declared a Holy Year by Pope Francis will open December 8, 2015 on “the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception” and concludes a year later “with the liturgical Solemnity of Christ the King on Nov, 20, 2016.” Of the latter date, it says further, “On that day as we seal the Holy Door, we shall be filled, above all, with a sense of gratitude and thanksgiving to the Most Holy Trinity for having granted us an extraordinary time of grace”. . . .“The granting of indulgences as a traditional theme of the Jubilee year is expressed in section No. 22. The book The Great Controversy by Ellen G. White is not alone in referring to the Roman Catholic Church more succinctly as the “Roman Church” or the “Church of Rome” or the “Romish Church.” The Protestant Reformers said the same. This Monday, the 20th, the secular press also referred to it as such. The AFP reported May 20, 2015, which the TheGuardian (Nigeria) repeated the next day, saying, and we quote: (emphasis mine):
“Pope Urges Chinese Catholics’s Allegiance to Rome
“Pope Francis called Wednesday on Chinese Catholics to remain attached to the ‘rock’ on which the Church in Rome is built, in a move expected to rile Beijing. ‘Ask Mary to help Catholics in China….to live spiritually united to the rock of Peter on which the church is built,’ the pontiff said in his weekly general audience in Saint Peter’s Square.

The closest star to our planet earth is Proxima Centauri (part of the Alpha Centauri triple system)—about 4.3 light years or roughly 25 trillion (25 million million) miles away. Beta Centauri is even farther—350 light years. Since the distance between Earth and moon is roughly a quarter of a million miles, the distance from Earth to Alpha Centauri would be about 100 million times the distance from earth to the moon. Now most will agree that Heaven or Paradise , the home of God and the angels, most likely is at the center of the universe is infinitely farther “somewhere out there.” If so, pray tell, how does God the Father and Jesus, the ascended Savior who, since 31 C.E. has been interceding and pleading His blood as our merciful High Priest and Mediator in the heavenly courts above in His glorified human nature that the Twelve disciples and two angels witnessed and testified to (Acts 1: 1-15)–see, yea, dwell in us and abide in our hearts? How will He “bring every” person’s “work into judgment with every secret thing, whether they be good or evil”? (Eccl. 12: 13, 14; Luke 8: 17)?
