ANGELS: DO WE REALLY KNOW WHO THEY ARE AND WHAT THEY DO?

FROM YOUR PASTOR’S DESK:

ANGELS: DO WE REALLY KNOW WHO THEY ARE AND WHAT THEY DO?

“Who maketh His angels spirits.”

Heb. 1:7, KJV.

“The angels are God’s ministers. They are His servants, doing His will. As the wind and the waves obey His will, as the fire accomplishes His design, so God uses His angels as they are needed.”

“Some see in this verse a reference to the cherubim and the seraphim. ‘Spirits’ is the same word  elsewhere used for ‘winds,’ and of the cherubim it is written. ‘And He rose upon a cherub, and did fly: yea, He did fly upon the wings of the wind.’ Ps. 18:10.”

“Seraphim’ means burning, fire, shining ones. Hence the Revised Version translates, ‘Who maketh His angels as winds, and His
ministers a flame of fire.’ Paul’s intent in quoting these statements is to show that angels are servants and that God uses them as His ministers. By CONTRAST, the Son is shown to be God.” Andreasen, The Book of Hebrews, pp. 67, 68.

The deity or divinity of Christ is a very critical subject in the plan of salvation. Major world religions do not believe in Christ’s deity such as Judaism and Islam. The Roman church claims Christ is divine but teach that divinity came from Mary, not on His own, by her “immaculate conception”’nowhere taught in the Bible. Furthermore, they claim that Christ’s Vicegerent in earth upon His ascension, is the pope, our fellow human mortal, not the divine Holy Spirit.the third Person of the Godhead. Mormonism denies that Jesus is God. The Iglesia Ni Kristo teaches that Christ is only flesh, etc.  And of course, none of the non-Christian world religions teach that Jesus is God Creator in the flesh. Know the basis of your faith!   God bless. NMF
