TWO POINTS REGARDING ‘ANTICHRIST’ MADE CLEAR (The Great Divide between Protestantism and Catholicism)

Edwardson says: “There were two arguments used against the position taken by the Reformers [regarding the Antichrist] which have puzzled many:
(1) It was claimed the Apostle John used two distinctions; ‘AN Antichrist’ to distinguish the false teachers of his day, and ‘THE Antichrist,’ referring to some superhuman monster of Jewish extraction that would appear just before Christ’s second coming.

“But on this point C. H. H. Wright truthfully remarks: ‘St. John, the only New Testament writer who employs the term [Antichrist], makes no distinction whatever between ‘AN Antichrist’ and ‘THE Antichrist.’ That distinction was in the main an INVENTION of the learned JESUIT interpreters.’ – ‘Daniel and His Prophecies,’ p. 166, London: 1906.
(2) The second objection was that while ‘THE Antichrist’ would deny the incarnation, for he would deny that ‘Christ is come in the flesh’ (2 John 7), the Pope does not deny this, therefore he cannot be the Antichrist. This argument has seemed so logical and conclusive that Protestants, to a large extent, have GIVEN UP the Protestant Doctrine that the Papacy is Antichrist, and have ceased to PROTEST.

“This argument however is based on a MISUNDERSTANDING caused by overlooking ONE WORD in this text. Antichrist was not to deny that Christ had come in the flesh, but was to deny that He had ‘come in THE flesh,’ in ‘THE SAME’ kind of flesh, as the human race He came to save. (See 1 John 4:3; 2 John 7, and Heb. 2:14,17).

“On this VITAL DIFFERENCE hinges the real ‘truth of the gospel.’
[Q]: Did Christ COME ALL THE WAY DOWN to make contact with the fallen race, or only part way, so that we must SAINTS, POPES and PRIESTS intercede for us with a Christ who is removed too far from fallen humanity, and it needs to make DIRECT CONTACT with the individual sinner? Right here lies the GREAT DIVIDE that parts Protestantism from Roman Catholicism. In order to understand this point clearly” we must consider the gospel of Christ vs the gospel of Rome! (From Facts of Faith, pp. 203-4).

BOUNDLESS RESOURCES OF CHRIST’s EMPOWERING GRACE IMPARTED THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRIT OF TRUTH

Jesus said to His disciples, “I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you forever; even the Spirit of truth.” John 14:16,17, KJV.

Before offering Himself as the antitypical sacrificial Victim, verily the Lamb of God at Calvary “Christ sought for the MOST ESSENTIAL AND COMPLETE GIFT to bestow upon His followers, a gift that would bring within their reach the BOUNDLESS RESOURCES OF GRACE. [John 14:16-18 quoted. Read it].

“Before this the Spirit had been in the world [see Gen. 1:2]; from the very beginning of the work of REDEMPTION He [the Holy Spirit] had been moving upon men’s hearts. But WHILE Christ was upon the earth [for 33 1/2 years and only 3 1/2 years public ministry from His baptism to His crucifixion], the disciples desired NO OTHER Helper. Not UNTIL they were deprived of His presence would they feel their NEED of the Holy Spirit, and then He could come.

“The Holy Spirit [never any Pope!] is Christ’s Representative [Vicar], but divested of the personality of humanity, and independent thereof. Cambered with humanity [all the limitations of man’s nature four thousand years after the fall], Christ could NOT be in every place PERSONALLY [He partook of the same flesh and blood nature as His brethren, Heb. 2:14].

Therefore it was FOR the disciples’ interest that He SHOULD go to the Father, and then send the Holy Spirit as His Successor on earth. NO ONE then could have ANY ADVANTAGE because of his location or personal contact with Christ. By the Holy Spirit Christ [and His empowering. saving grace] would be ACCESSIBLE TO ALL.

In this sense He would be NEARER to them than if He had not [in His permanent adopted human nature in the Incarnation] ascended on high.

“This promise [of His grace imparted by the Holy Spirit] belongs to US NOW as it belonged to the first disciples. Let every church member kneel before God, and pray earnestly for the IMPARTATION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.

Cry, ‘Lord, increase my faith. Make me to understand Thy Word; for the entrance of Thy Word gives light. Refresh me by Thy presence. Fill my heart with Thy Spirit.’ Amen.

“At all times and in all places, in all sorrows and in all afflictions, when the outlook seems dark and the future perplexing, and we feel helpless and alone [like now], the Comforter will be sent in answer to the prayer of faith.” (From God’s Amazing Grace, p. 191). Bless all, NMF

WHO SHALL THE SPIRIT GIVE POWER OF SPEECH AND WHAT TO SAY IN TIME OF TRIAL?

WHO SHALL THE SPIRIT GIVE POWER OF SPEECH AND WHAT TO SAY IN TIME OF TRIAL?

Jesus said, “But when they deliver you up, take no thought [don’t worry or stress] what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour [at that moment and place] what ye shall speak.” Matt. 10:19, KJV.

Read Matthew 10: 1-42. It contains the marching and working orders for Christ’s disciples, then and today. Now this:

“The servants of Christ are to prepare NO SET SPEECH to present when brought to TRIAL for their faith. [Why?] Their preparation is to be made DAY BY DAY, in treasuring up in their HEARTS the precious truths of God’s Word, in FEEDING upon the teaching of Christ, and through PRAYER strengthening their faith; then, when brought before trial [before ‘kings, governors, and great men of the earth’], the Holy Spirit will bring to REMEMBRANCE the very truths that will reach the hearts of those who shall COME to hear. God will flash the knowledge OBTAINED by diligent searching of the Scriptures, into their MEMORY, at the very time when it is needed.

“You are NOW to get ready for the [soon coming time of trial]. Now you are to KNOW whether your feet are planted on the Eternal Rock [as the wise man built his house (character) upon the rock, not sand].

You must have an INDIVIDUAL EXPERIENCE and not depend on others for your light. When you are brought to the test, how do you know that you will not be ALONE, with no EARTHLY friend at your side? Will you then be ABLE to realize that Christ is your support?

“Will you be able to RECALL the promise, ‘Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world?’ [Matt. 28:20]. There will be INVISIBLE ONES about you bent upon your DESTRUCTION.

Satan and his agents will seek in every way to make you WAVER from your steadfastness to God and His truth. But if you have ‘an eye single to His glory’ [Matt. 6: 22, 23], you need not take a thought as to HOW YOU SHALL WITNESS for His truth.

“Are you ‘growing up to the full stature of men and women in Christ’ [Eph. 4:13], so that when the CRISIS COMES, you cannot be separated from the Source of your strength?

If we would stand in the TIME OF TEST [now and the final one], we must now IN THE TIME OF PEACE, be gaining a LIVING [not vicarious, insipid or half-awake] EXPERIENCE in the things of God [not the ‘things of the world’].

We must now understand what are THE DEEP MOVINGS OF THE SPIRIT OF GOD. Christ must be our all and in all, the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.’ (Rev. 22:13).”- E. G. White, Maranatha, p. 255.

APOSTATE CHRISTIANITY UNITES WITH THE RESURRECTED PAPACY (Rev. 13).

“And the ten horns which thou sanest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom AS YET, but receive power as kings ONE HOUR [prophetic time] with the BEAST. These shall have ONE MIND and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.” Rev. 17: 12,13, KJV.

“As we approach the last crisis, it is of vital moment that HARMONY and UNITY exist among the Lord’s instrumentalities. [Why?] The world is filled with storm and war and variance [alienation, division, contradiction, enmity]. YET under one head—THE PAPAL POWER—the people [multitudes] will unite to oppose God IN THE PERSON of His [faithful commandment-keeping] witnesses.

“What is it that gives its KINGDOM [‘power and strength’] to this power [the beast]?

PROTESTANTISM, a power which, while professing to have the temper and spirit of a ‘lamb’ [Rev. 13: 11-16] and be allied to Heaven ‘speaks with the voice of a dragon. It is moved by a power from BENEATH.

‘These have one mind.’ [What does this mean?] There will be a universal bond of union, one great harmony, a confederacy of Satan’s forces. ‘And shall give their power and strength unto the beast.’

Thus is manifested the SAME arbitrary, oppressive power against RELIGIOUS LIBERTY, FREEDOM TO WORSHIP GOD ACCORDING TO DICTATES OF CONSCIENCE, as was manifested by the Papacy, when in the past [the Dark Ages] it persecuted those who DARED to refuse to conform with the religious rites and ceremonies of ROMANISM.

“In the warfare to be waged in the last days there will be UNITED, in opposition to God’s people, all the corrupt powers [once-Protestant] that have APOSTATIZED from the allegiance to the law of Jehovah.

In this warfare the SABBATH of the fourth commandment will be THE GREAT ISSUE [not China, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Communism, Socialism, Islam, jihad and sharia law; not even racism, neo Nazis, home-bred terrorism, or QAnon conspiracies. etc.]; for in the Sabbath commandment the great LAWGIVER identifies Himself as the CREATOR of the heavens and the earth.

“Through the TWO GREAT ERRORS of the [1] the immortality of the soul and [2] Sunday sacredness, Satan will bring the people UNDER his deceptions. While the former [natural soul immortality] lays the foundation of SPIRITUALISM, the latter [alleged Sunday sacredness] creates a BOND OF SYMPATHY with Rome [who bitterly persecuted and desolated the Protestant Christians for over a thousand years in the Dark Ages!].

“The Protestants of the United States [not in Europe or anywhere else] will be FOREMOST in stretching their hands across the gulf [that once separated them] to grasp the hand of SPIRITUALISM; they will reach over the ABYSS to clasp hands with the ROMAN POWER; and under the influence of this THREEFOLD UNION, this country [U.S.A.] will follow the steps of Rome in trampling upon the RIGHTS OF CONSCIENCE.” – E. G. White, Maranatha (devotional book), p. 187.

Faithfully practice, treasure above silver and gold, and learn how to defend your inalienable right to worship God according to dictates of conscience. This is what the very last GLOBAL warfare will be, starting in America and quickly followed by all nations!

MEANING OF ‘REDEEM,’ ‘REDEEMER’ IN THE GOSPEL

MEANING OF ‘REDEEM,’ ‘REDEEMER’ IN THE GOSPEL

Whenever you sing the hymn, “Redeemed, how I love to proclaim it, redeemed by the blood of the Lamb,” be sure you understand what “redeemed” means and its appointed function in the gospel. Satan has his counterfeit for it!

Both words are “generally a rendering of the Hebrew ga’al, ‘to ransom,’ ‘to buy back,’ ‘to recover,’ and of the Greek lootroo, ‘to free by paying a ransom,’ ‘to redeem,’ ‘to set free,’ ‘to rescue.’ The term ‘redeem’ is used in the sense of :
(1) the buying back or ransoming of property or slaves;
(2) the release from physical bondage or captivity;
(3) the redemption from SIN and SPIRITUAL BONDAGE or CAPTIVITY.

“A Hebrew landowner forced, for financial reasons to sell (actually lease, see Jubilee) his land might redeem it at any time (Lev. 25:25). Under certain circumstances produce that could be ordinarily tithe could be redeemed for cash, that is bought back for personal use (ch. 27:31).

“BOAZ was willing to redeem the property that had belonged to NAOMI’S husband (Ruth 4:1-10).

“God redeemed ISRAEL from Egyptian bondage (Exo. 6:6; 2 Sam. 7:23; 1 Chron. 17:21, etc.) and promised to redeem them from BABYLONIAN captivity (Micah 4:10).

“God redeems HIS PEOPLE FROM SIN (Ps. 130:8; Titus 2:14) and the CURSE (Gal. 3:13) and will redeem them from the GRAVE (Hos. 13:14; cf. 1 Cor. 15: 51-54; 1 Thess. 4: 16,17, etc.).

“Our redemption is made possible through sacrifice of Christ (Gal. 3:15; 4:4, 5; 1 Pet. 1:18, 19: Rev. 5;9, etc.).”

Read these verses carefully and it will be clear that having been “redeemed by the blood of the Lamb” that one is already eternally saved! God “redeemed” Israel from Egyptian bondage but only faithful “remnant” were obedient and faithful to their end. Jesus said, “he that endures to the end the same shall be saved.”

KNOW WHAT THE GOSPEL IS WITH CERTAINTY : YOUR ETERNAL DESTINY IS AT STAKE!

KNOW WHAT THE GOSPEL IS WITH CERTAINTY : YOUR ETERNAL DESTINY IS AT STAKE!

“He said to them go into all the world and preach the GOSPEL to every creature. He who believes and is baptized [by water and the Holy Spirit] will be SAVED; but he who does not believe [this gospel] will be CONDEMNED [damned, KJV].” Mark 16: 15,16, NKJV.

The first key word here is “gospel” (genuine or counterfeit), followed by “believe” (or not believe), then “saved” (or condemned), in this descending order.

Hereunder are Bible and Testimony references to help you, first, to “make your calling and election sure” (2 Pet. 1:10), and to be “always ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.” (1 Pet. 3:15):

BIBLE: “Gospel [Gr. evagellion, ‘good news.’]. The message of Christianity, the message of salvation through Jesus Christ [alone]. This ‘good news’ [everlasting gospel] was revealed in EMBRYO from the beginning (Gen. 3:15; 12:3), but was disclosed MORE FULLY by later Bible writers, especially by ISAIAH, who is sometimes called the ‘gospel prophet’ (see Isa. 49:60-62). Jesus announced His ministry to the people of His own village of Nazareth in the words of Isa. 61: 1, 2 (Luke 4:18,19).

“The ‘good news’ is described as ‘the gospel of Christ’ (Rom. 15: 19; 2 Cor. 4:4, etc), ‘the gospel of God’ (Rom. 1:1), and ‘the gospel of the grace of God’ (Acts 20:24). It is called a ‘mystery’ (Eph. 6:19). The phrase ‘the gospel of the kingdom’ (Matt. 9:35; Mark 1:14, etc.) has reference primarily to the gospel of ‘the kingdom of heaven’ or ‘kingdom of God’ (Matt. 12:28; 13: 24; Mark 1:15; Luke 17:20,21).

“Christ commanded His followers to preach the gospel to ‘every creature’ (Mark 16:15, 16; cf. Matt. 28:19; Acts 1:8). The preaching of the ‘gospel of the kingdom’ to all the world is given as a SIGN of Christ’s coming (Matt. 24:14). In vision John saw an ‘angel’ with the ‘everlasting kingdom’ to preach to ‘every nation, kindred [tribe], and tongue and people’ (Rev. 14:6).

“The use of the term ‘Gospel’ to refer to any of the first 4 books of the NT is extra-biblical. Some see a suggestion of such a use in Mark 1:1.”

TESTIMONY OF SPIRIT OF PROPHECY:
“The gospel is a SYSTEM OF PRACTICAL TRUTHS destined to work great changes in human CHARACTER . If it does not work the transformation in life, in habits, and practices, it is NO TRUTH [and must be of the counterfeit ‘another gospel’] to those who CLAIM to believe it.
Man must be SANCTIFIED through the truth [of the true gospel]. And said Jesus, ‘Thy word is truth’ (John 17:17). UNLESS the truth of God shall LIFT UP MAN OUT OF his depravity, his intemperate and profligate habits, and make him REFLECT the image of God he is LOST.” – E. G. White, Letter 14, March 13, 1885.

KNOW WHAT THE GOSPEL IS: DON’T GUESS OR SPECULATE

Here’s why: “Jesus said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the GOSPEL to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be SAVED, but he that believeth not shall be DAMNED.” Mark 16: 15,16, KJV.

The true gospel saves, when believed (in its fullest sense); damns if rejected or ignored. But it’s counterfeit brings damnation whether believed or not.

Why? Fallen, mortal man is born almost lost because of inherent sinful propensities and the “visiting of the iniquities of the fathers unto their children to the third and fourth generation; hence, the indispensability of godly parental guidance to establish the first character foundation on the truth.

If the child “increases in stature in the wisdom and knowledge of God” in character development until his death he will receive the gift of eternal life for faithfulness, until he is rescued, delivered, restored and rewarded with the gift of eternal life.

Only the true gospel saves. To accept the counterfeit is damnation and to reject it but not believe the genuine is likewise damnation.
