THE PROPHETIC TIMETABLE FROM 538 A.D. TO 1844 (Continued).

Steve Jobs (1955-2011) left large footprints of accomplishments in the sands of the tech-savvy realm during these closing stages of earth’s history—with many quotable quotes to boot. One of them (as quoted in the seventh paragraph below) should urge most of us lesser-intellectually endowed fellow mortals to seriously re-examine our present attitudes, values, priorities, and future plans and aspirations in the light of three things, namely:

First, the mind-boggling scientific and technological advances with their unprecedented opportunities to do good as well as evil in the world, which his creative genius, as one of the giants of the information age helped shape and accelerate. As co-founder of Apple, a brief rundown of some of his direct and indirect contributions to our too-rapidly-increasing “tech-savviness” and the heretofore unknown forms of addictions, etc., that it has spawned and the overly-interconnected global society that spelled the death knell for the once-sacrosanct space of personal privacy—include the Apple II (the world’s first marketed personal computer; the iMac; the iBook; the I Pod; iTunes; I Phone, and glass staircases, etc.

“It suits the policy of Satan that men should retain the forms of religion if but the spirit of vital godliness is lacking. After the rejection of the gospel, the Jews continued zealously to maintain their ancient rites they rigorously preserved their national exclusiveness, while they themselves could not but admit that the presence of God was no longer manifest among them. The prophecy of Daniel (9: 24-27) pointed so unmistakably to the time of the Messiah’s coming, and so directly foretold His death, that they discouraged its study, and finally the rabbis pronounced a curse on all who should attempt a computation of time [of the seventy-week prophecy]” –E. Biblical Numerology: NUMBER THREE – Part XVII THE PROPHETIC TIMETABLE FROM THE COVENANT WEEK TO 1844 (Continued)

The last prophetic week or seven literal years of the Covenant week of Daniel 9: 24-27 began with the baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist as “the Lamb of God,” Christ “the Anointed” the equivalent of the Hebrew Mashiach, the promised “seed of a woman” (Gen. 3: 15; Gal. 4: 4, 5). After completing His prophesied work exclusively in Palestine, among His own chosen people—as the “Teacher come from God” (John 3: 2), the “Prophet like Me, raised up from your midst, from your brethren” (Deut. 18: 15, 18), they, in strange collusion with their hated Roman masters temporarily united, and crucified Him “in the midst of the week, or three and half literal years after, A.D. 31. John the beloved disciple records this plain gospel truth: “He came to His own, and His own received Him not.” John 1: 11, K.J.V. (see verses 1-14).

The remaining three and a half years witnessed the disciples—the Twelve and the seventy—continuing Christ’s work as He commanded them, particularly after the endowment of the Holy Spirit’s power at Pentecost, fifty days after His resurrection. In addition, they now proclaimed with unwonted power in Jerusalem the glorious truths clustering around His crucifixion, death, and resurrection.

Biblical Numerology: NUMBER THREE – Part XVI

THE PROPHETIC TIMETABLE FROM THE COVENANT WEEK TO 1844

The Day, Month, and Year. Many of the most eminent scholars of various faiths through the centuries believed in the great outline prophecies of the Bible. Bible scholars of different denominations agree that in prophetic time a day is equivalent to one literal year (Num.13: 34; Eze. 4: 6), the year being 360 days. The literal day is a full 24 hour-day in the primal, literary sense. According to the Bible reckoning in Genesis chapter 1, “evening-morning” designated a 24-hour period beginning at sunset (evening), hence, “Evening-Morning” and ends the following sunset, not midnight.

Thus the beginning of the dark part of the day was designated “evening” and always precedes the light part of the day, called “morning.” The fact that in Daniel 8: 14 the word for “evening” precedes “morning” undoubtedly implies the same sequence—a full 24-hour day, not half a day, as some try to reinterpret the 2300-day prophecy by rendering the 2300 days as 1150 days, etc.

Pope Francis Asks Forgiveness for Catholic Church’s Persecution of the Waldenses.

“Pope Francis asked forgiveness on Monday for the Roman Catholic Church’s ‘non-Christian and inhumane’ treatment in the past of the Waldensians, a tiny Protestant movement the Vatican tried to exterminate in the 15^th century. Francis made his plea during the first ever visit by a pope to a Waldensian temple on the second day of a trip to Italy’s northern Piedmont region, the centre of the Waldensian Church, which has only 30, 000 followers worldwide.

“While the movement is miniscule compared to the 1.2 billion Roman Catholic Church, the gesture is part of Francis’ drive to promote Christian unity and it has taken on added significance ahead of the 500^th Anniversary of the Protestant Reformation in 2017. ‘On behalf of the Catholic Church, I ask forgiveness for the un-Christian and even inhumane positions and actions taken against you historically, he said. ‘In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, forgive us!’
